Brain fog, dizziness, vision problems, head pressure, headache PLEASE HELP

Hi everyone!

I don't know where else to go, and was hoping someone could please help me. I'll start off by saying I'm a 23 year old Caucasian female. Going on 5 months now, I have had absolutely debilitating symptoms which have hindered my daily life. I feel these symptoms every moment of every day.

It started with dizziness and a persistent brain fog. I just thought I had a bug, and tried to go on about my life. However, my symptoms have never gone away. This "brain fog" I am talking about is a feeling of complete mental confusion, I have no memory, I cannot concentrate on anything, it feels like there's a dark blanket on my brain clouding all my thoughts. I have extreme disorientation and haziness. I feel like I'm always in a dream like state.

I am constantly dizzy and feel a pulling sensation, as if I'm ready to fall over at any moment. It feels like there's air inside my head, and I'm always very lightheaded. Whenever I try to drive I feel this pulling sensation pulling me down.

Another problem I have is with my vision. I am having very blurred vision and have double vision. Everytime I look at something up close it is extremely blurry and I cannot see at all. My perception on things has completely changed. I feel like everything looks very odd and strange and I don't have the right depth perception. It's like I'm in a horrible dream like state all the time.

I have been having headaches and head pressure as well, and having horrible pains behind my eyes. The pin starts from the back of my head close to my neck and continues up my head and the sides of my temples. My eyes hurt so bad, and it feels like knives are jabbing my eyes. My head also feels extremely heavy all the time.

All these symptoms have been causing me severe anxiety, and I have been having panic attacks from them and feel like I'm dying. It is causing a strange disrespity sensation, where I feel like I'm not even here anymore and there's a detachment from myself and my body. I have had to drop all my classes at college and quit my job because these symptoms make me lay in bed all day long. I have been unable to drive for months and can barely get up to walk around. If anyone could please help me or know anything as a suggestion to try.

I have been to my general doctor, 2 ENTs, 1 neurologist, have had 2 MRIs, a hearing test, VNG, multiple blood tests, and no one knows what is wrong. I can't live like this anymore. Any help is greatly appreciated.

    Have you seen a chiropractor?  Not sure how you feel about that either but I’m just wondering if maybe it’s also something in your back causing something. It all connects.

      Hi Paige! I have an appointment with one soon, I definitely want to have it checked it as, like you said, it’s all very connected! Thank you for the advice ☺️

    Well I’m trying to get a neurologist but they taking so long for my referral . I go see an ENT tomorrow for my cyst on sinus cause that’s what my primary care doctor is tryna say what’s causing my symptoms. I pray they have answers. I’m also praying for an MRI And praying that it’s nothing dangerous. I’m so tired of being scared and being in and out of hospitals ... they don’t do anything but say its a migraine and send me home . CT scans don’t show what a MRA scan will show . So I could care less for CT scans cause I’ve had several and they only found the cyst on my sinus . I’m just ready to get back to my regular life for my son . Oh and I went from 150 pounds now im 128 pounds 😔 I really hope this doctor will find answers tomorrow cause I’m stressed

      Hi Shadocia,

      I have the same symptoms as you, I am suffering since June 2017, dizziness,pin,needles, numbness, blurry vision,etc..., I have seen so many specialist Doctors, ENT, Neurologist, Cardiologist and now waiting to see Orthopaedic and Ophthalmologist next month.

      Head,Face and Ear MRI done all clear and shows sinusitis ENT Doctor have given me Avamys Spray to use for a very long time which I do.

      It helps a bit but not much.

      refereed to physiotherapy for my Neck stiffness under NHS but not helping, I have terrible pain so I use Deep Heat roll which helps a lot.

      My ENT discharged me last week as he said all my MRI and scan are normal so is nothing he can do for me.

      I was fuming that he cannot do anything for me while my both Ears blocked and is like air cells showed in the MRI and one side of my ear is inflamed and the other has full wax which GP checked it for me.

      My Gp refereed me to see ENT for second opinion to different hospital. 

      I will see my Ophthalmologist next month as my vision is decreased a lot since i have this symptoms and

      I cannot see clear.

       

      some how the dizziness settle for me, but to day at work I felt my heart start beating fast and had pressure in my head followed by fainting is like going back to square one. 

      I cannot tell you how I suffers in silence, but I cannot give up, I am constantly on the move, i have to keep active and exercise, go for swimming  even I have the symptoms until when i am back to myself.

      Please let me know how did it go to day with your ENT consultation.

      Hi sab,

      Maybe your going through perimenapause that's why nothing is showing on all these test that there doing could all be related to hormones, hope you feel better.

      Yes, you definitely right, probably, I am primeanapausing but is the primeanpause Spymptoms cause the fainting and pin and needless and shaking, heart beat like crazy is like panic attack and I get really weak for about 5 min then am

      Back to my self 70 %.

      Please let me know if it is?

      Have experienced any of my symptoms?

      I pray to god every day to give us all the health back soon.

      Sab, did you get the heart racing, feeling faint and head pressure when you stood up after sitting awhile? If so, it could be orthostatic hypotension where your blood pressure drops temporarily. Or, if you have high blood pressure that is not controlled it can cause this as well. A Dr can check for this.

      Hi dizzy,

      I had ECG for a week and pick up at one point my heart beats 180 per min but everything normal and cardiology Dr said is normal.

      I have review in August.

      Regarding the blood pressure, I don't have that.

      For orthostatic  hypotension am not sur, I will check with GP next visit.

      Sab, I do not have your symptoms exactly. But I have had orthostatic hypotension at times because of the beta blocker meds I take for migraine prevention. It usually happens only after standing up or sitting up.. hence the term "orthostatic". That's why I asked you about if your symptoms happened after standing up. Faintness, woozyness, and some visual symptoms are common, but it only lasts a very short time.

      Forgot to mention, my daughter has dysautonomia, and when she takes a hot shower, stands up too quick, etc, her heart can race and she can have visual and dizzy issues that persist. She was told to keep well hydrated and eat many small high protein meals throughout the day. Also exercise. My issues are different. More like swaying, feeling I'm gonna tip over when walking or leaning over, fluctuating tinnitus, neck pain, head pressure, ear pressure. I've been told I have vestibular migraine and possible menieres disease.

      Hi Sab..

      Sometimes I feel weak, shaky, and my heart beats really fast.. I get paranoid I’m going to pass out or something but thank God I haven’t. Idk why it happens.. I’m a healthy 32 yr old.. doctor has ran all kinds of blood work and brain MRI.. it’s all normal.. Maybe it’s just low blood sugar.. When I feel that way, I eat something really quick and drink lots of water.

      Yap, i have the same things it settle for few months but for the last 3 days, I had exactly the same symptoms is scary, I thought am dying.

      Hi Sab,

      Since all my symptoms began since 2015 after I had my son.. one of my symptoms is pressure in my ears. I hate it.. it feels like I’m in a high altitude and I constantly have to pop my ears.. I’ve seem two ENT’s and they say everything looks good.. ugh! I’ve gotten a detailed exam of a hearing test and they also checked for vertigo.. but nothing!

      Lately I’ve been feeling lots of pressure in my ears.. can’t seem to pop them.. my allergies have been very bad these last few days so I don’t know if it’s related. Ugh, I’m so frustrated. Today I had a migraine so I don’t know if that could also be a reason while my ears feel pressure.. I’ve sufered from migraine since I was a kid.. I get a good 4 per yr.

      Hi Terri,

      Maybe u should go see a Holistic doctor. They check vitamin levels and specialize in Chinese herbal medicine.

      I’m truing to go see one but it’s pricey, my health insurance won’t cover it..

      I am really sorry you still suffering with this symptoms.

      I have the same, few weeks back I thought all my symptoms are cleared unfortunately it didn't last.

      One day I weak up with blurry vision and I feels like loosing my sight. my neck stiffness and painful, is like all stress build up in my neck and I feel horrible again.

      I feel heavy and put on weight in my stomach part.

      I cannot exercise any more.

      I have decide to exercise a least twice a weeke run with my husband help this week.

      Yap I went to ENT and he said all normal a part my sinusit which I use avamys spray for a long time(probably side affect put on weight).

      Now am waiting for ophthalmologist, ENT and orthopaedic for my Neck.

      I have a big and last hope on those specialist Doctors they can diagonose me with something so I can start the treatment.

      It is so annoying, I am very tired of feeling this way.

      I will let you know if anything new happen with me.

      I think is stress too. big issue makes the symptoms worst.
