Brain Tumor and Organs Donation

I've watch some tv series. In there, there is a doctor suffering lung cancer and can't treat anymore. He wants to donate his organs including his heart to someone. So he inject himself with some medicine and become coma or his brain is dead. And the doctor operate his body and transfer his organs to other.

If a brain tumor patient can’t cure anymore, patient may not feel pain right now but his/her disease can't cure and the doctor can only prolong his/her life only a few days or months but the patient has the will to donate his/her heart and other organs before that patient die. Is there a way?
