Posted , 379 users are following.

I have this horrid poo smell from my mouth. I brush my teeth twice a day, floss, use Dentyl PH mouthwash, I have the best oral hygeine of anyone I know but I still have this smell. I am too embarrassed to even ask my flriends or family to tell me my breath stinks. I am becoming totally reclusive because of it. Id rather go to my GP and tell him ive got an STD. I know ive got it coz sometimes people look around and ask if ive farted, and I see people with babies smelling their nappies when I speak. It really is starting to badly affect my life but I just cant pluck up the courage ot go to my GP. How on earht can i ay \"DR, My breath smells like poo!\" Please, if anyone has any tips let me know.

      Hey Jaymo,

I just wanted to check up on you see how you are doing. Are things still going the same?

I registered just to answer this question, in hopes this will help you. I think you might have tonsil stones. If you have enlarged tonsils, especially if you notice crevices in them. Food can become trapped in them, and litterally smell like rotting food, or poop. I suffered from this, and went to my dentist. No help. My doctor said to go to the dentist , but I have no cavities, and have excellent oral hygeine.I was finally convinced my doctor to allow me to see a ENT, Eyes, nose, throat specialist. I was diagnosed with this. Warning though, some ENT do not even know about tonsil stones, so you might have to look into one who does. I am having my tonsil removed in Febuary, and I can not wait. I too like yourself stay home, and have become reclusive, because the smell it creates is very embrassing. I hope this helps you. Please let us know any new updates for you. Wishing you the best.

check to see if bacteria stones have formed in your tonsils.. do you have tonsils... Don't give UP!!!  enough people suffer with this, trust me someone is coming up with a solution..  you will see..  but can be little white stones that you can't see Lodged in the pockets of your throast if you take your finger and gently push along the sides of your throat.. and get get any thing to dislodge..

Absolutely agree!   After I realised I had tonsil stones, I went to my doctor about them.  I described them and he said it was bits of "bone" coming down from my nose!  I then approached the dentist and he had never heard of them.  If it wasn't for the internet I would still be suffering!  What I have learnt is that scraping my tongue 3 times a day and keeping my mouth from drying out (apparently salivia is a GREAT bacteria buster) helps.  I also use an alcohol free mouth wash.  Tonsils are shrinking and I give them a good poke every now and then to make sure they are empty.  I am too old to have my tonsils removed unless I go private.    Its a horrible problem and I sympathise with anyone who has them.

Hi i had the same problem for 23 years . i know exactly how bad it is to be in that situation. i promised myself once i find the cure for myself, ill spread the word. And for a month now, i finally found the answer to my problem. I tried them all but none of them really worked because im just masking the issue. first i had my dentist check any unhealthy signs in my mouth thats casuing it - nothing. Second, i went to see and ENT and told them about my halitosis and he said i have gerd, sinusitis, and post nasal drip. He prescribed me with nasal sprays and that seem to help but i also found out about dental probiotics . you can buy any brand on amazon. it worked but when i eat again, its still not as normal as i used to be. i was told i have to keep on brushing my teeth every single time i eat which is still not the solution i was looking for. then years later i just decided to live healthier. i started working out and cutting sugar on my diet. then i found the culprit. my bad breath was definitely coming from my stomach and it was the CHOCOLATES! Chocolate is considered acidic and that was the cause of my GERD and post nasal drip etc . since ive stopped eating any forms of chocolate candy, ice cream or cake it went away after a week! so i suggest getting checked first, eliminating the possible root cause and eat better. bacteria thrive on sugar. and keep a diary of what youve been eating if your issue is coming from your stomach. also, dental probiotics help keep it fresh. get it from amazon. good luck ! dont lose hope. do your research and eat healthy. see specialists. they can lead you into finding a permanent solution. all the best! 😃

Hi there, I'm so sorry to hear about this... Please consider that this could be a problem with acid reflux in your stomach getting up into your throat and going putrid there ... Go to a doctor or naturopath. My recommendation is find a very reputable naturopath - I mean someone experienced- and ask them to put you onto a probiotic tablet and also something like HCL tablets to start to balance your acidity... Even just apple cider vinegar per eating and at other times ( look it up to see when) starts to get you on track... Hope this helps and best wishes

Jaymo I am so sorry to read that all these years later you still suffer from this issue. Have you been to a

Doctor to find the underlying cause? As nouk stated, it could be an acid reflux issue. It could be caused by a bacteria in your stomach called H Pylori. If left untreated, acid reflux or the bacteria could turn issues much

worse than bad breath. If you have not yet sought out medical treatment, I strongly urge you to do it. If one doctor dismisses you, seek out a second opinion because doctors are not always correct. This condition, while embarrassing, could very well be your body's way of warning you of another, more serious issue and I believe it is worth checking out.

Od. Poor people. How awful for you. Please please please get your self some Acidophilus from a health food shop and try taking that for a month or so. Up to three months may be needed but after the first bottle of pills you should know if its having any effect at all. Get 10 billion potency. Yes billion. Or failing that 4billion upwards.

This really is a miracle cure for so many things to do with internal health. The acidophilus will put good gut flora back into your system. I would guess you have had a lot of anti biotics or are badly constipated.

Bad breath often comes up from the inside and poo smells seems very extreme. Natural yogurt is good too, not the ones with sweeteners and starch in, just good old plain yogurt and add your own fresh fruit.

suspend the oral hygiene expense as cleaning your mouth of all bacteria can have a detrimental effect on the good stuff and the natural breakdown of odours by saliva

Hi, when you scrape your tongue you must scrape back as far as you can go as the bacteria that produce the poo like smell live right at the back on the gag reflex (so I have read). If you already do this, the problem may not be from your mouth but due to toxicity in the gut. In this case you need to be very careful with diet and eat natural unprocessed foods. When food is incompletely digested it produces toxins and if the liver is overloaded those toxins are absorbed into the bloodstream and can be expelled through the lungs. Natural food is processed far more easily and produces less toxic waste. High protein foods like dairy and red meat are the hardest to digest - possibly accounting for the poo breath side effect of the Atkins diet. One sign of internal toxicity is poor skin, when I eat crap for more than a day or two my skin erupts. The Hay diet (food combining - not mixing carbs & protein) can help poor digestion. 'Ultimate Health' by Dr John Briffa gives detailed information on clearing internal toxicity and 'The Hay Diet Made Easy' by Jackie Habgood gives information on how food combining can help clear bad breath. Hope this is helpful.

    Hi all.

I had this problem for 20 years. i tried most things and at best they provided temporary relief. Anyway, i was searching around on another site and found a reference to oil pulling. I'm not going to explain it here, there are a thousand sites that tell you what this is and how to do it but basically you are swishing oil (sunflower, olive or better still coconut) around your mouth gums and through the teeth for 15-20 mins.

I was skeptical but prepared to give it a try and it worked. not a week or a month later, straight away. First use. i couldnt believe it but if you suffer with bad breath just try this. for some of you it will provide you with an instant and permanent cure.

    you're welcome.
