Breath smells like faeces (Poo)

I have this horrid poo smell from my mouth. I brush my teeth twice a day, floss, use Dentyl PH mouthwash, I have the best oral hygeine of anyone I know but I still have this smell. I am too embarrassed to even ask my flriends or family to tell me my breath stinks. I am becoming totally reclusive because of it. Id rather go to my GP and tell him ive got an STD. I know ive got it coz sometimes people look around and ask if ive farted, and I see people with babies smelling their nappies when I speak. It really is starting to badly affect my life but I just cant pluck up the courage ot go to my GP. How on earht can i ay \"DR, My breath smells like poo!\" Please, if anyone has any tips let me know.

Hey so iv had the problem for a few years now just recently I solved my problem. It's to do with my sinuses when I have dairy it makes my sinuses swell which blocks them and causes mucus to sit in my throat which the kind of ferments and produces a horrible poo smell. So my advice would be to try removing things from your diet for a few weeks and see what happens it could simply be an allergy. Hope this helps

It can also be a sympton of or indicater of more serious underlying health issues, get yourself checked out, you've made the doctors job easier now by ruling out poor hygiene. personally I would be more embarassed that everyone I know hates talking to me, (yes they prob know that its you and not the baby again!) I don't say that to be nasty just to help put it in perspective! either ! nasty conversation (the doc) or every conversation is going to be nasty.
Good luck when you see the doc

I have ordered mine online as my doctors wouldnt wanna see me. They think its all up in my head. Its sad how doctors these days dont want to help anyone anymore if they cant or dont know what it is.

I was diagnosed with periodontal disease over 15 years ago but didn't do anything about it due to the lack of insurance. I have an appointment with a periodontist this Wednesday and will take it from there. Cheers!

Hope4cure, just an update. Had periodontal surgery 1.5 years ago but it didn't help with bb. However it helped emensely with my oral hygiene which my dentist praised every visits. Still paying monthly for it but at least I could rule out that it's not my gum or teeth that's causing bb.

Hi, joining in here if that is ok. First time on this particular thread -it made me laugh and made me sad at the same time. I had this smell on and off for years and years. If it was running riot and I sat in the car waiting for my hubs for whatever reason, he would say "have you f++++ d" but my initial reaction was to go into a fit of giggles (strange humour i know). Then other days it would be fine for weeks on end. I don't have problems with sinus - runny nose now and then but nothing dreadful. No sinus headache so don't think it was that. But I do have GERD and acid reflux and have for years. I noticed that each time the old pong appeared would be at the same time as my tum being off; I would also get the metal taste at the same time. It is a while now and I have been clear. I swapped semi skimmed milk for almond milk and limit meat to once every couple of weeks. Basically follow reflux diet of no citrus, spices etc. It is possible it is acid causing it - you can have acid reflux and not get heartburn.
I have gum disease and go every 3 months for deep root cleaning but whenever I go I can tell my breath is fine - and hubs would soon tell me, so in my case I think it is stomach related.
I was in contact with a nutritionist and Chinese Traditional Medicine professor as at the same time my tongue was sore and burning, he sorted that out for me on line - but when I mentioned the "gas" smell he said he had never heard of it. I never realised there were so many others who have been subject to this.
