Breath smells like faeces (Poo)

Posted , 379 users are following.

I have this horrid poo smell from my mouth. I brush my teeth twice a day, floss, use Dentyl PH mouthwash, I have the best oral hygeine of anyone I know but I still have this smell. I am too embarrassed to even ask my flriends or family to tell me my breath stinks. I am becoming totally reclusive because of it. Id rather go to my GP and tell him ive got an STD. I know ive got it coz sometimes people look around and ask if ive farted, and I see people with babies smelling their nappies when I speak. It really is starting to badly affect my life but I just cant pluck up the courage ot go to my GP. How on earht can i ay \"DR, My breath smells like poo!\" Please, if anyone has any tips let me know.

      Hi Ria,

I have been through the same. Everytime opening your mouth and you know what people are thinking. Its very hard and embarrassing. At one point I had given up, not anymore. I have a friend who doesnt even brush her teeth and her breath never smells. Its not fair!

I noticed dairy makes mine really bad. I take a digestive enzyme everytime I eat and I use a 50 billion probiotic pill to stay regular. Cut down on smoking and drinking. No sugar!! New one is make sure to get any buildup off the roof of your mouth.

Been following this thread for over two years and still nothing.

I guess I'm not losing hope or anything. I've gotten pretty suicidal over this in times, but I have found ways of entertaining myself until something helps my B.B. issues.

I still isolate myself and have spent the majority of my twenties as a shell of who I could've really been, but I'm prepping for my thirties to be way better. It sucks because I never even went to university because I didnt want to embarrass myself. I could've been graduated, making 6 figures and having a great social life. Instead, I'm working some dead end job that's I only keep because I don't have to come into constant contact with people.

I just got my tonsils out and that didn't help much. I'm sure my problem was based on my allergies and mucus issues, so I went to see an allergist today and on Saturday we start allergy therapy. I have to see him every week for three months then once a month after that. He said I my see the benefits until after month three, but it should help control my allergies. Hoping this isn't the final hurdle to cross.

Sorry for your troubles. What will you be doing at these allergy sessions?

I totally understand how you feel.  I feel like I've not lived life to the full because I have to stand back because of bad breath.  I definitely think bb is connected to enviromenment in the mouth which is deep affected by diet and allergies.  I've just posted myself to say that dairy causes post nasal drip and thickened mucus which in turn attracts horrible bacteria.  Sugar is also a huge issue.  I have used every mouth wash on the market but the ONLY one that made a big difference (not cured but really  helped) was pro fresh.  You can get it in the USA and UK.   Someone else on here said they hope that one day there will be  cure.  There won't.  We have to cure ourselves through diet and using a product or oral care routine that suits us.

I agree with you that we have to do this ourselves because I don't think the doctors or anybody else is taking seriously

I am looking in to this clinic in CA that specializes in bad breathe. My insurance company doesn't qualify the visit as a need so I'll be spending another 2 thousand trying to fix this . It's going to take me forever to save up that money to go .

I'd been to a breath clinic when it was in San Francisco back in 1995. Spent $500 for an office visit. My teeth was in bad shape at that time due to the lack of insurance growing up but the person who examined me didn't notice that. After spending hundreds of dollars on their mouthwashes I still have bb. Go figure.

If you have any symptoms at all, you should save your hard earned money and invest in treating those symptoms instead. I.e. Dry mouth, white coating on tongue, acid reflux, etc..

Thank you go for the advise. You saved me from a lot of stress throng to save enough . What did we do to deserve this ?

There will be a cure for bb one day. We just have to take one step at a time.

My daughter's breath used to be horrible until she started using neti pot to clean her sinus. It doesn't cure her but help keep her breath fresh weeks at a time. Of course the same didn't work for me but I still used it from time to time.

I have been struggling for a few years with this and I was so embarrassed.. thank god for the Internet.. I read on here a few months ago about this GERD and I had blood tests, they came back fine but told to take olamprazamols,I was for the past few months and nothing really just sorted my reflux. 😒

My bad breath was still there worse when I slept I would have to face the opposite way as my husband, it was making me depressed would hide myself away.. until I read on here again 2 weeks ago and seen this NeilMed Sinus rinse, ever since this I have had no bad smell just normal breath I'm so happy I could cry after years of feeling like crap.. it's only around £10.. u would never of guessed ur sinuses make that bad of a small thanks to who ever mentioned it ????
