Posted , 379 users are following.
I have this horrid poo smell from my mouth. I brush my teeth twice a day, floss, use Dentyl PH mouthwash, I have the best oral hygeine of anyone I know but I still have this smell. I am too embarrassed to even ask my flriends or family to tell me my breath stinks. I am becoming totally reclusive because of it. Id rather go to my GP and tell him ive got an STD. I know ive got it coz sometimes people look around and ask if ive farted, and I see people with babies smelling their nappies when I speak. It really is starting to badly affect my life but I just cant pluck up the courage ot go to my GP. How on earht can i ay \"DR, My breath smells like poo!\" Please, if anyone has any tips let me know.

Hi Guys,
Anyone having any luck - especially the people who have been to see medical professions.
I finished a 3 month treatment of acid reflux which what the ent said was the cause of course it wasn't.
Starting to think knowone knows.

Hi
The ENT guy said my tonsils had stones in yet they wouldn't smell as they are encased in the tonsil tissue. They only smell when they are hanging out. So though they have offered to remove my tonsils, they said it won't make any difference. I am now pretty convinced that my personal issue is an overgrowth of yeasty bacteria and I am trying to curb my sugar intake. I do feel so much better when cutting own refined sugars, I do have set backs some days (like cake for breakfast this morning) but am doing pretty well.
I am in the process of sourcing a strong oral probiotic from the USA. It won't be ready for a few months but will let you know how I get on. It is frustrating isn't it.

My problem started when I was 16.. Went on for a couple years and then kind of mellowed out for about a decade. 28 rolls around and it comes back strong. Sulfur, eggs, poo smell.
This time I made it my goal to find the issue. I was first prescribed acid reflux pills.. Nothing. Fungal antibiotics.. nothing. Changed my diet, took natural supplements etc. This went on for about a year.
I then went to see an ent doctor thinking it was my sinuses. He gave me a sinus irrigation bottle. Seemed to help but was using more of an anti fungal solution, so it didn’t really help that much.
I recently found out I have a deviated septum which is causing my chronic post nasal drip. I’m convinced this is the cause. My sinuses are creating too much mucus, too often for my body to break down. So it gets stuck in my sinuses and throat. That creates a sulfur chemical reaction and gives me the odor. There are websites that describe it better.. Just google sinus bad breath and there should be articles.
Anyway, my conclusion is to start putting things in my sinus irrigator to thin out my mucus, twice daily. My other option is to have surgery fixing my deviated septum. I’m going to start with a product I found before I get into surgery, called Alkalol. That’s where I’m at in a short version. This has been a difficult process and has made me a different person because of it.

The GNT specialist recommended an IBS treatment to me, but i am not allowed to post details here. If you PM me, i will send you details.
Personally i’m not convinced that probiotics makes a difference, which is what this stuff is, as well as expensive, but i guess we’ll all try anything in the hope that it works!

Do you have post nasal drip? If so I think I just found out solution. I’m on my second day of nasal irrigation with grapefruit seed extract + saline solution. It’s working. My issue however is due to chronic post nasal drip. Everyone is different.

This is my situation;
Female. Nearly 30 years old now. This issue has been going almost entirely since I was 11. I made half attempts to see doctors about it up until this year. I suffer from an embarrassing deformity so that coupled with my breath smelling like s**t (for no apparent) has had me wanting to kill myself. I don’t know how I let myself deal with life for so many years. Anyway, in October I had my tonsils removed by an ENT specialist thinking that was the culprit. Unfortunately, the nasty smell continues. It’s worse after having a meal. I have recently realized what I thought was nausea was actually heartburn, and i’ve probably had heartburn for as long as I can remember but it seems to have gotten worse over the past few years. Maybe due to increased stress and smoking marijuana for the past few years. So I have a feeling my nasty smell is from my gut, I’m scheduled for endoscopy in 2 weeks, and I’m really hoping, PRAYING 🙏🏽 that the doctor can find something concrete and am PRAYING 🙏🏽 there is a feasible and permanent solution.
Aside from the stress of dealing with this most of my f*****g life, I don’t have any medical conditions and can be considered pretty healthy.

It’s the toughest thing I’ve ever gone through, now a different person because of it. I’m 30 now and have had it off and on since I was 16. Many opportunities passed due to my situation. I’ve learned to mask it pretty well using a nasal irrigater(saline, grapefruit SE, alkalol) . Works pretty well but I’m a traveling musician so I have to be around a lot of people. In cars, vans etc.. that’s the hardest. I have a very understanding, healing girlfriend but we have issues due to probably my issues. Anyway, on the bright side this condition has made me a very spiritual, aware person. It was either that or a very dark person. I have moments..
Have you tried focusing on your sinuses? I haven’t found a cure but I’ve made it somewhat better with unpredictable flare ups.

I went to the GI who originally said that I don't have signs of an ulcer (because I would be in pain), or acid reflux (because I would have heartburn), or symptoms of H-Pylori. But she ordered a Barium swallow test because the way I described my process of swallowing was abnormal and they found that my stomach has an abnormality that they wanted to investigate (she talked about tumors and growths). I just had an upper endoscopy and they found that I have ulcers, inflammation, a hiatal hernia (related to acid reflux), and nodules. She also took a sample for an H-Pylori test. Basically all the diagnoses that she had ruled out earlier - are now back on the table. Amazing! It's just lucky I have a f@#$%ing hernia or she wouldn't have investigated. Annoying. I will post back here when I find out what the labs find.

I had my endoscopy done. I have a hiatal hernia which why my acid reflux has been so bad lately. Yuck, nothing I take seems to make that better, it’s like an endless reflux. My posture isn’t helping
Additionally, the doc said my stomach and small intestine have irritation & took biopsy. it’s positive for h. Pylori. I’ll be starting antibiotics on Monday.

I tested positive for h. Pylori, so let’s hope after treating that the smell goes away permanently and I can restart re-building my self esteem.
I’ll keep y’all posted...
Will u be doing the same?

My solution was to turn my mouth up into the shower head if it ran forceful enough. Open my mouth and let the water pour hard into the back of my throat. It pounds out the smelly stuff. Once I actually went into the backyard and used the garden hose. I had to do it 2 or 3 times in a row and you have to swallow when you have the water pounding into your mouth. It was such a huge relief to have this succeed. I almost cried. I did it a couple times/days in a row and now do it maybe once a month to keep it clear.
Good luck.

No not a joke. Have you tried it? Did it not work for you? It's done wonders for me and others I 've talked with on other sites. I've been sharing this for a few years now and heard back from many; not all, that it's worked for them.

Many on this list are confident that the issue is coming from the stomach and not the mouth and so no amount of jet blasting will make a difference to that.
Having said all of that, if you feel that you have found a solution that works for you, then well done!

I've been battling this nightmare for about 25 years, and it I also believe my issue also comes from my sinuses. It encourages me to know I'm not the only one going through this and that we can all try to help each other. I've always had sinus issues, but after much research and trial & error have recently made some serious improvements. In the past, doctors were quick to prescribe decongestants, sprays, etc., but never seemed to work. I even tried and spent lots of money on allergy shots, acupuncture, sinus surgery, only to get very minimal improvement. I really sympathize with all of you going through this, and pray that you can find improvement as well. For me, focusing on daily sinus treatment and altering my diet offered the most improvement I've experienced, and I hope some / all of it helps you.
Regarding treatment of my sinuses, daily saline irrigation has helped the most to reduce this horrible smell. Once a day in the shower I use a netipot with warm saline mixture (filtered or distilled water with packet of sinus mixture (sodium chloride and sodium bicarbonate). You can find detailed instructions online on proper procedure. Every other day, I'll add two drops of Eucalyptus and tea tree oil to the mix which seemed to help. I also just started using a xylitol spray once a day which also seemed to really help.
Diet was very important, because I found that drinking a lot of water helped my condition, which became horrendous when I would get dehydrated, mostly a day after consuming a lot of alcohol or after I drank coffee. I now only have a beer or glass of wine, and make sure to follow it up with a glass of water. Sugar really worsens this condition, mainly in liquids such as soda, sweet cocktails, fruit juice which I have eliminated from my diet all together. I do have some sugar (almost impossible to eliminate all sugar in foods), but try to keep it to a minimum. Supplements played an important role in my improvement, and I found oregano capsules really help, and I also take apple cider vinegar tablets. Last, once a day I combine half a lemon, fresh ginger, mint, cayenne pepper, and a little stevia with ice water which actually tastes really good and is effective in battling sinus infections.
I really hope this helps some of you and thank God that I'm finally beating this after 25 plus years!
