I rarely drive now, but when I do it's a loaner car, or I am a passenger in a friends car.
The key for me is to sit up straight. These modern Racaro seats have that concave feature and for me it rolls my shoulders forward and so does the dam headrests... I cannot sit in that position of head down forward, and shoulders rolled. I have to sit bolt upright and shoulders straight, as I do have a good T shape frame and it's of course natural to sit straight.
Use cushions or a pillow if need be to support your back and keep you straight. Use something like a box that is high beside you to rest your elbow on at just under elbow or between elbow and shoulder hieght. It helps to open up the rib cage... Put your other arm up on the armrest.... It's a matter of finding that comfortable, and more relaxed position without stress, and then breathing should only be from the bottom of your lungs...NOT the top 2 or 3 inches.... To easy to fall into bad breathing habits.. There are folk out there that can teach you to Breath properly, it is a common problem with folk to lazy breathe and even Sports folk undertake to learn better breathing techniques.
Being tired as I said and feeling the heaviness in back and chest can make us focus on bad breathing or not being able to take a good deep breath without forcing ourselves to yawn instead.... If your gettng like that, you need to go to bed and get a good night or days rest and sleep!

HI it looks like gastritis stomach issues, if you stomach is not healthy it will effect lungs cause shortness of breath in many ways. I use to eat spicy foods then start getting shortness of breath it took me months to figure out it was gastritis build up then your stomach puts pressure on lungs through some nerves that are connected from stomach to lungs. I think loosing weight and eating healthy an exercise will make this go away. Believe me we eat lots of crapy foods not organic and even water we drink is not pure and the air is polluted, also 4g and 5g and all the electronics wifi, bluetooth in the car around us all these can cause it. If we change our life style it will fix our health problems. I use to get shortness of breath when sitting in the car and I started jogging , eating healthy cure my gastiritis and engaged myself in a natural enviroment also avoiding stress and it has fixed my problem.
