I get that feeling sometimes round my mouths , it feels almost like someone has put an astringent lotion on to numb it . Does that sound really weird ? It's only as you've written that I can recall this sensation . All these symptoms . At the moment my anxiety is up , unsettled feeling , weird stomach , really achy left knee and I'm on . Oh the joys of being a women . Oh yes and my bad head came back , plus my memories terrible .

Memory? What's that? I am frightened about my memory loss at times. It's like someone has erased all the names of people places and things from my mind. I too have weird aches that I never had before. I think exercise helps though.

I would look why your shoulders are painful. Don't put everything to peri. I went to see a Physio and was very surprised what and how we don't look our body.

JUst make your G P to hear you and make him to send you to see a specialist.

    Get well soon!

My shoulders aren't painful more a dull ache, mind you I do breast stroke swim three days a week forty mins each time but it wouldn't explain nausea, only a brief feeling but that could be my digestion as I have a hernia! X

Sometimes I forget words mid sentence . I'm starting to worry about early onset dementia , but I'm hoping it's all to do with peri . These problems seem to go on and on . I would just love to wake up with nothing wrong . It always seems to be a headache , migraine , bad stomach , an ache somewhere or other , anxiety , you name it I have it . Every so often I feel like I'm getting flu as well , but it never develops . Looking back I can remember when I was a teenager before I started my periods that I suffered with a lot of weird , heavy heads , I even passed out at one point , so maybe all this is like I'm reverting back to how I was then . That then was obviously hormonal , so I guess it is now 35 years on

Yes I had a stage of brain fog, forgetting things and I even called my cat the name of one that had died years ago! Thankfully that stage passes x

We can't all be imagining these symptoms . That's why this forum is so great , we can all sympathise with each other , give advice , reassurance that we are not dying . I know all too well that any recurring or new symptom frightens the hell out of me . Everything is some terrible terminal illness . I hope at some point I will feel more like my old self , I just wish it would be sooner rather then later , so that I can enjoy life again . It stops me from wanting to do too much or be far from home . Does anyone else feel like this ?

I know how you feel. II'malways thinking something terrible is about to happen to my health. How old are you? I'm 48 in January.

I was 49 in August and all of this started last around the time that my mum died last year , I guess it's all linked . I have heard that a stressful event can cause peri to come on suddenly , I don't know if this is true

Sorry to hear about your mum Jane. I'm certain it is linked. My father died at 42 and my mum went into menopause after. Are you UK or USa based? I'm in Ireland. It's great to chat.

I'm in England . It's always good to chat , a problem shared as they say . Thank you for letting me know that , as I'm sure that's what caused all this to escalate as my general health was excellent before I lost my mum .

I would say it is. Hopefully things will end quickly for both of us and we'll be able to normal soon. Although my husband might say my normal is still irregular!! Lol
