We all repair at different rates, it all depends on your age, underlying condition, and many more factors including pure luck.
I had a 'toothache on the bum' today after my walk, and get pains in the front of the thigh, and even groin pains occasionally. Sometimes I am up all night going to the loo, and get depressed too ....... it really is a pain in the .......
Hang in there - It's a real roller coaster of a journey.

welcome to our hippies famliy -
First thing, DO NOT COMPARE yourself to others ..
we have been there, done that, heard about the stories of people who threw cruthes away and ran marathons 7 days after surgery... that is why this forum is priceless - we all heal at our own speed -
at 3 weeks you're still early in your recovery -
getting dressed by yourself is already a big accomplishment, so kudos- putting on socks? to be honest, I still use the sock aid at 13 weeks post-op ... just a coward, afraid to bend the 90 degree rule and not so flexible from the hips down -
It is a roller-coaster - not only physically but also emotionally -- so come back here any time if you have any questions or concerns. okay ?
big warm hug and be kind to yourself

when was your surgery ? very possible that big muscle in butt is overworked -
so take it easy - make sure that when you walk, you take your time and use sticks if still necessary - otherwise your walk is unbalanced - hence the pain in the bum
bug warm hug

hi. 4 weeks post THR. Bum cheek and thigh pain on both operated and non-operated sides. sign of overdoing the walking? Also hit low mood for last few days and poor sleep. Ready to bite someone! Long journey to better feels like forever ...
Question: When have folks started physio?
