I am now awaiting a appt with my specialist re my bunion, but reading all of the FORUMS I am beginning to change my mind as everyone seems to be in pain and it doesnt look good, so is it best to put up with the pain now or is it really worth it ??????

Hi Sharon39182. I had my bunion surgery on my right foot 7 years ago at Whipps Cross Hospital in London, UK. I was 45 when I had my surgery done. I had a bunion for a number of years before I decided to go to my doctor to get a referral for surgery. The reason was that it became more painful as the joint seemed to have moved inwards suddenly. The pain would stop me in my tracks as I was walking so I felt it was worth going through the discomfort of surgery and recovery so I could lead an active life again. It's 7 years later now and I'm really happy with the outcome and am very glad I had surgery. So I guess you need to weigh up the pros and cons - how much pain you're in now - with the outcome.

    Hi Sharon,

thanks for for asking, I am doing as well as can be! I now have what feels like a ten pound bowling ball on my leg. Stitches are out. Pin comes out next week. I have been trying to establish a productive routine. Reading, studying, getting around my multi level home, excersising (on one leg, interesting, but better than nothing!) I try not to think about how I am confined to my house. My kids will be out of school his week so that will help!

what is going on with you?
