Burning needs to go!

Hello. I'm hoping I can get some answers. I'm almost 53 and in menopause. I've dealt with hot flashes etc and some vaginal dryness. However after being in the pool for a few weeks I've gotten really dry and just a constant state of burning. I did get replens but that just makes me itch. I read some people have helps with coconut oil. I'm wondering if there is a particular kind that works better. I can't go to the doc yet cuz my husband switched jobs and new insurance hasn't started yet. So I am looking for natural help until in can get there. Like many others this has stopped my sex life and sometimes I feel like it's driving me crazy. Other times i can forget about it for a bit and it's better but usually it's just a constant uncomfortable burning. I also read something about Apple cider vinegar maybe helping. I realize there are many posts similar to mine but i really needed direct contact with someone who understands.

Hi,i get burning and pressure, people say organic coconut oil, which i have not tryed,i know there are vit e suupositories for inside. My outer bits bother me the most, right now i use vit e squeezed from a 400 mg vitamin capsule. I open it by pokeing it with a pin then squeeze it on my finger and very gently apply to my vulva, helps some, also sometimes per doctor, over the counter 1 percent hydrocortisone ointment, not cream, sitz baths. Cotton underwear, loose clothes,no soap, just clear water. Its very hard, felt pretty good for awhile, then i wore tighter pants and its back.

      Hydrocortisone is for outside only

Thanks for the suggestions. I will get some vitamin E and give that a try. I have a cheaper brand of coconut oil that says organic but it doesn't help me really. Sigh.

I melt coconut oil pour into glass dish cut into small pieces and keep in freezer instant relief

And you should not use it too often. It can actually cause more thinning

Coconut oil doesn't cause thinning of the skin. I have used it externally and internally every time I go to the loo for 4 years and it kept me going (and kept sex going) just fine. Steroid creams cause skin thinning, but the consultant dermatologist I saw for my vulvodynia said that only applies to normal skin, not mucus membranes like in the vulva area.

I am sorry for the misunderstanding. I was replying to the comment about steroids. Steroids can cause thinning

With all due respect to your dermatologist, my experience with lots of women has shown me that steroids cause thinning of the mucous membrane (vulva) too.

Yes, I was a bit dubious, which is why I wouldn't use them long term. Also, with long term use they can actually start to work the other way and make you worse, which is what happened to me, so I stopped immediately. Steroid creams are just a short term solution.

Coconit oil almost immediate relief for a short term fix. Yes lubricant the oil based helps me for internal and out. Balance activ menopause better than replens. Avoid pool water. That is when I started having symtoms of burning the chlorine withh dry you uo and irritate you. Avoid rough seams in trousers.

Hi, it's horrible burning soreness, I feel for you. replenish isnt good, YES VM is best, instantly relieves, and apply frequently , vagisil helps as Lidocaine helps numb things, but not really a moisturiser or a fix, but helps you get through the day.

you might need some local estrogen to help
