Burning sensations in both legs

Hi everyone, I have had several knee surgeries in the past year. Im still having issues. One thing I have noticed a couple months back is when I lay down in bed. My legs are in fire. They are not to the touch? It does it sometimes during the day,but mostly every night at bedtime. I get so irritated I get out of bed, strip down and turn a fan on. They are still burning. They don't tingle or nothing but any answers would be helpful. This is interrupting my sleep and are awful. Thanks Tina.

off me. I have had it during the day, but most of the day my legs
and feet are ice cold. I do have a lot of other symptoms affecting
every part of my body. Most that only I can feel , which makes it
hard for anyone else to understand unless they are suffering
the same themselves.

Hi Mandy, I haven't addressed this to my Drs. I have been overlooking this and shrugging it off because the great deal of pain I still suffer from on my left knee.It gets pretty bad at night. I do to suffer from cold feet during the day. Once I go to bed it's instantly on fire. Both my legs. It's really weird. It does happen during the day time too. For example last night I went to pick my daughter up from work and I was so agitated and ready to get out of the car because they were on fire. They don't tingle or a sharp pain like sciatica. They are just hot. Thanks,Tina

Hi Tina, along with the burning, ice cold feelings, I have stabbing ,
pulling, pricking, stinging sensations. I've been told it,s small fibre
sensory polyneuropathy diffuse . I've been given Gabapentin which
hasn't got rid but has calmed it down a bit.
look it up see if it fits what you're experiencing. I also have
Autonomic Neuropathy .

Hi mandy, It's not a nerve pain feeling. I do have sciatica issues and cervical nerve pain and multiple migraines. So I could understand if pain was shooting or tingling cause I can relate to those pressure points, but it's a different kind of thing going on? I do have fibromyalgia and have had it for years. This is a new symptom that has come on for about 2 months. Maybe my fibromyalgia is just getting worse? I really didn't think it could get any worse. Lol. It's just weird. When I googled my symptoms it showed up MS and another neuralgia disorder. That's why it's not good to Google things. I'm thankful for these forums. I feel reassured I'm not the only one suffering and other folks can relate.

I can relate and understand completely. It's really hard to explain
to people who don't suffer what we are dealing with ,what we are
experiencing.
Right now I have leggings on, socks on fleece blanket over me,and
my legs & feet are still cold. Yet, in about an hour they will be
burning like an inferno.

Patricia and Mandy, I'm gonna talk with my Dr about these things for sure. My life was turned upside down when I had my total kneecap replacement back in April of 2016. My knee would wake me up all hours of the night. Just horrible pain. It didn't dawn on me from all this knee problems that I was enduring these other issues. I'm not going to sleep til about 2 in the morning. Stripping my clothes off from waist down. Covers off and back on. Window open and fan going. Been thri ugh menopause so I can differentiate that as well. Ha this is not that! It started out with this crawling feeling in my feet that would irritate me to no end. I thought maybe it was from circulation? But these legs are on fire, fire. My husband can even feel how hot they are. He is like wow! I don't know but I don't think I'm gonna tolerate that much longer without answers. I sure hope you ladies figure out what's going on too. I know I would like to know?

Hi patricia, I see my pain specialist on the 10th. I may give them a call and ask them about this. I got to thinking could this possibly be from my steroid injections? I get them in my lumbar and also in my sacral joints. My ortho Dr also wants him to do nerve blocks in my knee. So when I see him I don't know what he is gonna say about the knee injection. I'm kind of scared to get the injection in my knee because it already gives out on me,snaps, pops and swells alot. I have fallen down the stairs a couple times. I go in tomorrow to get a MIR if my shoulder. When I fell a few weeks ago I heard something snap in my arm. The Dr did a xray and it showed alot of immflamtion and arthritis. So he did a steroid injection. Do you get injections?

Good evening Patricia, I finally got in to see my primary care dr yesterday. Today i had a vascular study done on my legs. I dont have the results for that yet. My Dr asked me if i had been putting a heating pad in my legs. Ummm No freaking way. She said they didnt look very good. I said well you should see them at night. They look like they are Sun burnt. After my vascular study I want and seen my pain Dr. Everyone pushes me off to him. He has done numerous steroid injections in my Lumbar and sacral joints. My knee Dr wanted him to take over my pain management. The ortho Dr believes I have Complex Regional simplex syndrome. The pain Dr says Um No. So he wants to take me off the percocets and put me on Butan. It's a 7 day pain patch that will supposably give me 24 hour pain relief. Also gonna be starting a new topical cream to rub on painful areas of my knees. Also about that MRI. It showed moderate to severe glenohumeral and antclavicula osteoarthritis. Several joint effusions measuring up to 7mm. So I don't know what's going on with that issue? I know the feeling of going through so much teams and what it can do to you mentally. It's exhausting. I cried to my Dr today. Oh well, I'm tired too. My mind tells me let's go do this and my body says the heck if you are. I don't know if this new medicine will help, but I sure do hope so. I'm scared of trying something new because I'm sensitive to alot of things. I will keep you updated when I start the new meds and let you know what they say about my fire log legs. Hopefully something puts the fire out so I can get some rest. Pain Dr said that's why I can't sleep is because the meds wear off when I'm sleeping, so we will see. I'm keeping you in my prayers and stay strong. Thanks again,Tina
