If this is the case then a chiropacter may solve the problem faster than a doctor.
If you were Diabetic It's possible peripheral neuropathy could trigger this sensation in which case you may find the supplement ALA (alpha lipoic acid) may help as would going on a low carbohydrate higher fat diet.
Could also be a manifestion of Sciatica if you've ever had that?
it's a shame to put it down the Fibro if it's something you/your doctor could solve.

"Is fibromyalgia a neuropathic pain syndrome?"
You will see there is some debate as to whether Fibro patients should or should not be regarded as suffering "neuropathic pain"
There is then a tendency to assume there is no treatment other than drugs and we know in practice this isn't necessarily the only or the best way to resolve chronic pain.
It's all to easy to believe absoluletly everything your doctor says and maybe the evidence doesn't always back up what they say.
As we know increasing vitamin D3 intake to 5000iu/daily and raising 25(OH)D levels to 125nmol/l or above achieves a reduction in Fibromyalgia symptoms then some of the pain sensations may be, to some extent, treatable.
if I'd believed everything my doctors told me I'd still be overweight, I'd still be getting regular UTI, I'd still be living in constant pain.
Sometimes we have to take responsibility for our own health and ensure we explore every possible avenue and not accept what the doctor is saying is the only option.

since the net improved i took the chance to do my own research and have found out so much . so much i already thought myself just using common sense i found out it did have merit.
for along time now i use my gp as the last port of call not the first. at 50 they started sending me free health checks from my surgery straight in the bin ,requests for mammagrames straight in the bin
my gran and her mam my great granma both used to say if you want to stay well stay away from the doctors.i thought they were wrong.at the time.
my gran was 89 and my great nan was 91 when they died my great nan was cleaning the butchers floor the morning of the day she died . they belived if you ate well ,slept well, kept busy , you were on a good track for good health. i think they were right . take of your body nourish it rest it and move it and your on the right road ,

I don't remember having this type of sensation before.
The problem with the FM tag is the way people/medical staff just assume that the pain or problem that we are presenting them with is bound to be FM and not a bleed under the skin caused by a junior Dr pushing a canular straight through a vein into my thumb tendons.

Everything is worse with my body since hip replacement in 2010... I feared going into this as more trauma is not what my body needs.

I've just had nerve block injections in to my scalp with the hope they relieve the pains in my neck.
Also started a course of Hyperbaric Oxygen treatment to assist with healing

The bizarre thing is how INCONSISTENT it is. One day I feel like a Rockstar and the next I feel like I fell out of a moving vehicle (minus the road rash). One day the cold burns my skin through my clothes, the next day it's fine. Same with sleep quality, energy.
And I'm one of those crazy people who completely changed my diet and is doing a one year detox deal and does yoga & all kinds of weird stuff/homework my naturopath gives me.
