How are you feeling now?
I have been burping like crazy as of late. I think my GI is all out of wack from taking some meds. My abdominal hurts with back pains.
Thanks

I am very interested in this conversation. I had many of the symptoms described, constant burping, heartburn and back pain, between shoulder blades. Researching on the internet gave me great concerns, reading about the links between oesophageal cancer and the symptoms.
When I went for a massage, which I thought may help the back pain I was pleased to hear the masseuse say there were knots in my shoulders and a lot of tension in the muscles by my shoulder blade. I guess I was looking for a non reflux reason for my back pain.
I followed this up with a visit to a chiropractor who said the top of my spine was slightly compressed. Well, after a half hour of manipulation I got up and my back pain had eased and my heartburn had gone. Since then the burping has stopped and the heartburn has gone too. It's only been a few days but I feel so much better.
I had never considered that the back pain could be caused by my back pain. I have started researching the connection between Gord/Gerd and back pain. It seems the nerves that control the operation of LES are in the upper part of the spine and any irregularities may cause a malfunction in the correct operation, resulting in acid reflux and burping. There is a lot of information online supporting this.
I would recommend anyone suffering with heartburn, burping and back pain between the shoulder blades goes for a session with a qualified chiropractor. It cost me £30 and half an hour and I feel like I've got my normal life back. I'm sure it won't be the cure for everyone but it may help you. As I said, for me it's only been a couple of days, I will try and update you with my progress after a week or so.

Last but one paragraph should "reflux - not back pain- could be caused by my back pain"

Because its been quite a while, I couldnt explain my situation to my family fully and the doctor is anyway making fun, but not making attempt to understand what exactly is the problem or root cause..
In this post, I found people speaking my language and going through same kind of pain I am going through.. Thanks again to everyone for sharing details... and please share some more experiences after the treatments you have taken.. Thanks a tonn!!

oh my its so relieving to know I am not the only to have this condition, I thought I am getting crazy! I've had this condition about 3 years now. I burp like hell and back pain on my right shoulder is irritable. I work in the office and it hurts so much up to my elbow joints and finger tips too! I had Physical Therapy for 2 weeks, didn't help, I met with Chiropractor and had 2 sessions, didn't do any good! Had X-Ray, nothing was seen. Met with Internist, the Dr said its my muscle they get stretch everytime I burp. I was hospitalized once for acute Gastritis (and hypokalemia-not sure that relates to my burping). The Dr prescribed home remedy but all useless!!
I tried Nexium (I swear I am not advertising anything, I am not connected to anyone working in that company) I took for 4 weeks then took a break from taking it. it was not instant relief but after 2weeks of taking it religiously, my heartburn and burping was gone (although it would still comes back when I drink milk or eat steaks).. I have been normal for about 6 months but it came back right now I'm in so much pain (The reason I check online for some self diagnosed stuff 😫
. I will get some Nexium again tomorrow and will see if this goes away again.
Still can't believe none of the doctors and professionals I've met gave the exact diagnosis on this condition. I feel the same way for you guys.. I hope we all find solutions to this pain.

Yes!! its in my right shoulder near the shoulder blades and scapula, it always happen when I burp and have too much gas.. sometimes I feel like my left shoulder is doing the same thing now..it has quite loud cracking sounds whenever I would try to rotate my right shoulder, ohhh it hurts so much!! I just started taking Nexium (Esomeprazole) again.. hopefully next week will feel better..
How are you feeling otherwise?

Thanks for responding!I feel otherwise fine! I have of course Google diagnosed oesophageal cancer and have started driving myself crazy! It also happens when I swallow food, after say four or five bites, a weird little twinge shoots across to my right shoulder blade, then it goes away instantly! I have long had reflux, mildly really, I take a very small dose of lansoprazole which controls that. I would not say mine is as painful as yours sounds, it's more of a twinge.......
