hi everyone,
for nearly a year ive been having anxiety, it all started after an operation.
was told by a home Dr oh its nerves, take some valium. Increase your anti dep.
its all gone downhill since then, twitching, tremors in the night, dry retching has started. Worst of all is the constant flutters in my belly and bottom.
i am now on prozac 40 mg, 11 weeks in total.
i am in menopause too, so many odd symptoms with anxiety, is it anxiety, is it menopause. Im depressed now coz of all of it. I am 59 i had no idea anxiety was so awful! Can anyone tell me about the fluttering?
any comments would be appreciated, thanks so much!

Hi carol,
I have been suffering with physical symptoms of anxiety following my husbands cancer diagnosis(he's fine now) however I experienced everything you have listed and I'm into my 4th week of fluoxetine. I still get flutters/internal shakiness now but I think the Prozac is working as I can managed the symptoms better and function more than I could.
Have you spoken to your gp again? I was constantly on the phone to them for reassurance as I thought I was going mad. But it seems you've got more than just anxiety going on and I think they need to look into it more. I hate the way gps just seem to fob people off. I really hope you start feeling better soon. These forums are really helpful to help you get out whatevers on your mind that could be causing anxiety.
Take care x

Hello Jade,
thank you for your kind reply, yes ive seen three drs in the last few months. As well as lots of tests, i was also seeing a phsyc dr not sure if i will keep going, its a long drive and stressful for me, I did get some good coping ideas, i also did an online mind course avail from a university.
in my case there is a mix going on im sure, menopause, Cfs, anxiety, maybe even thyroid issues. Drs really only want to rely on blood tests, unlike drs from olden days, ie if bloods are in normal range your healthy so it must be anxiety. This is modern medicine, thyroid testing isnt all that reliable, but thats another story lol.
im hopeful that i can get through, im lucky i dont have cancer or any other awful disease, so im grateful. Ive a safe comfy home, food to eat. I try to see the good everday, as im sure you do too!
cheers🌺

Ps Jade,
im glad your dear hubby got the all clear, such a worry. My sister inlaw has battled cancer for twelve years. I admire anyone who has travelled that road, true heros in my eyes. Makes me feel weak that im not coping like i used to.
