BV STRESSFUL!!!

HI GUYS!!!!! I WANTED TO SHARE MY STORY WITH YOU ALL ABOUT BV!!! I'VE BEEN SUFFERING SINCE THE AGE OF 17. I AM NOW 32. I'VE WENT THROUGH DIFFERENT DOCTORS! EMERGENCY ROOMS .. HOME REMEDIES! CHLOROPHYLL, VITAMIN C ROSEHIPS, VITAMIN D,E, ACIDOLPOLIUS PILLS, REFRESH, PERIOXIDE DOUCHE, BORIC ACID, TEA TREE OIL, DIFFERENT UNSCENTED SOAPS, YOGURT.. I MEAN YOU NAME IT! I TRIED IT! ALLLLLL OF THE ANTIBIOTICS PRESCRIBED! AND STILL NO CURE! ONLY TEMPORARY RELIEF!!! IT WAS KILLING MY CONFIDENCE.. I DIDNT LIKE BEING CLOSE TO OTHERS! THE SMELL MADE ME JUST CRYYYY BECAUSE I KNEW I WASNT DIRTY!!!!!! FINALLY I TRIED ANOTHER NEW DOCTOR AND LAID IT ALL OUT TO HIM!!!!!! IN TEARS!!!!! HE FINALLY SAID " LET ME TAKE A LOOK AND PUT SOME THINGS UNDER THE MICROSCOPE" BECAUSE OFTEN WOMEN ARE BEING TREATED FOR BV BUT HONESTLY THERE ARE DIFFERENT BACTERIA'S.. AND HE SAID I BELIEVE YOU MAY HAVE BEEN BEING TREATED FOR THE WRONG BACTERIA AND THAT IS WHY IT RETURNS!!!!! SO AFTER MY PAP SMEAR HE STATED HE WOULD HAVE HIS NURSE CALL ME IN A COUPLE OF DAYS... SO A COUPLE OF DAYS PAST AND I RECIEVED A CALL FROM THE NERVES (I WAS GOING CRAZY THE WAITING DAYS LOL) SHE SAID "YOU DONT HAVE BV... U HAVE A DIFFERENT BACTERIAL INFECTION (DONT KILL ME BUT I FORGET THE NAME OF THE INFECTION.. ILL CALL TODAY) FLAYGIL, METRO GEL AND CLIDAMISN DOESNT CURE THIS.. THATS WHY U END UP BACK TO THE SMELL AND DISCHARGE! I WAS PUT ON DOXYCYCLINE 2 TIMES A DAY! FOR 14 DAYS! AND WHEN I SAY I HAVE BEEN STINCH FREEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE!!!! OMG OMG!!!! AFTER THE 2ND DAY IT WAS GONE! BUT THE MEDS ADVISED U TO CONTINUE TO TAKE IT EVEN IF THE ISSUE GOES AWAY BEFORE COMPLETION OF THE MEDS!!!! I CRIED!!! BUT WASNT FULLY CONVINCED!!! THE TEST WOULD BE AFTER I FINISHED THE MEDICINE! IM PROUD TO SAY IVE BEEN OFF THE MEDS FOR A WEEK NOW!!! NO SMELL! NO DISCHARGE!!!!!! I CAN FINALLY GET MY CONFIDENCE BACKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKK!!!!!! IVE BEEN SUFFERING WITH THIS FOR YEARSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSS! AND IM SOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO HAPPY!!!!!!! MY DOCTOR SAID THAT HE MAY PUT ME ON 1 MORE ROUND BUT MAYBE ONCE A DAY HE HASNT DECIDED JUST YET! HOPE THIS HELPS!!!

    Sorry I forgot to ask...can you please find out the name of the bacteria he said you have, I would love to be able to bring it up to my dr. Thanks

    Please respond with the name of the bacteria. I've been suffering for a decade with "BV". Nothing has worked up until recently when I was put on doxycycline for an unrelated skin infection and my symptoms went away! So i searched "doxycycline and bacterial vaginosis" to see if I could find out why it helped and that's how I found this post. My symptoms have returned but it was the first time I had relief in 10 YEARS! I made an appointment with my doctor so I can talk to him about this so if you could please tell us the name it would be much appreciated. It doesn't feel fair that you've found this answer, promised to come back with the name of the bacteria and then left us hanging. You could help thousands of women with this information.

      Hi! I've had something very similar as well. I went to the OBGYN last week and was diagnosed with non-infectious cervicitis. Cervicitis can be caused from STDs like chlamydia and gonorrhea but there is also the kind that's caused by tampons, fragrances, allergies (even to your significant other's sperm). I thought I had BV but it turns out I had the non-infectious cervicitis. They ran several blood tests for STDs, HIV, PID, thyroid etc. Everything came back negative thankfully!! My Dr. ended up putting me on doxycycline hyclate for 7 days, 100 MG 2 x per day and it seems like I'm in the clear. I have a follow up appointment on Friday, 10/28 to make sure I'm good to go so I can update you then! Hope this helps!

      Hello...I too have been suffering for years with bv...I can clear it up with metronidazole gel that goes into the vagina...but just as soon as the treatment is done which is 5 days...and when my husband and I have sex...with in 2-3 days afterwards the horrible smell is back...it literally smells like something rotting..I KNOW that sounds so gross but that's what I have to deal with...and it makes for a horrible sex life...my poor husband wants sex but I can't subject him to that smell...and I have to wear a panty liner all the time or sometimes ill even put a tampon in too to keep The smell down because I feel like people can smell me and I am a clean person but this smell makes me feel dirty all the time...what could be the cause of this coming back after sex?? Please help I've tried everything I've gone as far as putting plain yogurt inside of me trying to get rid of the smell.

      I have never got any type of bacterial infection until me and my boyfriend of 9 years split up. This guy i grew up with, a new partner I slept with him. I ended up in the hospital from bacterial v. I was in so much pain. I got treated it came back because I slept with him again. went to my obgyn she gave me metronidazole.75 and used this for 7 days straight at night. It cleared up, I slept with him again it came back this repeated cycle has been going in for 4 years. what cures mine is u have to take it for 7 days at night and cannot drink alcohol on this at all . I have done this so many times, if u drink alcohol on that 7th day it will not clear up.. also if I used it for 5 days it did not clear up. It has to be 7 days exact. You would think I would learn my lesson with this guy. I'm just comfortable with him but now he is gross to me bottom line is my ph does not balance with his specimen. that's what the issue is ..I have tested this by sleeping with another guy when my bv cleared up. I did not get it.. this is the only man that makes me stink and feel dirty .I had to cut him off, i could not imagine the rest of my life with someone who throws off my ph its not fun being in the medicine. 4 years is long enough . I understand your issue and i hope this helps you in some way.

    I've been dealing with BV for a few years now. I'm about to be 21 next week so maybe about 2-3 years I've been dealing with this issue. I tried everything and nothing worked completely for me either. So I finally thought about if it was just a yeast infection or not because my boyfriend and I talk about the issue and it makes me feel so down and out. But I went to Walmart and got a monistat test to see what it could be. The swab was still yellow after I inserted it into my vagina and that means my acidity was normal and that there was nothing more serious going on. I've been on day 2 of the monistat and I'm hoping that works. If that's all it really was I'm going to be so angry at my dr because I asked them about what I can do and what else there wasn't to take and they could never really help me out. $100s wasted on meds, different home remedy items, co pays for the Dr. So far I've seen a change so hopefully I have done the right thing

      I spoke to the woman who made this post and she said she had mycoplasma hominis. EVERY WOMAN WHO HAS STRUGGLED WITH CONSTANT AND/OR RECURRENT BV, go and beg your doctor for a test that tests for mycoplasma hominis, mycoplasma genitalium and ureaplasma Urealyticum!

    Hello I would like to share my story. So, for so long I have suffered with a bad odor here and there I did everything to try and stay fresh but I notice that after I Dutch even though it would be every blue moon I would have a thick white discharge it wouldn’t smell but it would be uncomfortable and destroying my underwear. I called my doctor after seeing him weeks ago for a pap test which came back clear. I told my doctor I need to be tested again and stated that he would Test me for more testing. When the results came back it was bad I had so much going on it was BV and I had no good bacterial. I have had several sexual partners so I knew that would be a issue he treated me with several antibiotic and a vaginal cream and I decided to remain not have sex for a year. Because I really wanted to take care of myself and listen to my Dr, he also recommended probiotics... well currently on my journey to a healthy vagina.

      have you had any luck? I’ve not. Tried every medication and nothing has worked tried literally everything

    Hi! I have been struggling with bc for 5 years and was Justin prescribed thuan medicine. I’m on day two and have seen no change at all. I know this is an old post.. I was wondering if your infections ever came back?

    Ladies, after I took the Doxycycline 2 tablets for 10 days along with Goats kefir(only probiotics that worked for me especially that it has only 2 percent lactose) I bought CERES SECRET WAND. Search it. My professor Gynaecologist recommended it and aparently in Germany they avoid use of antibiotics. And take the more Useful way. And I never got BV again. 

    You should bare in mind that I never stop Natural FRESH (not bottled) probiotics. NO SUGAR. Olive leaf extract 85% oleuropien. Since the antibiotics damage your immune system indefinitely. But the star is Ceres Secret. As it stimulates self cleansing as it gently exfoliates the skin. Tightens and you’ll suddenly have a new understanding to good sex.
