I'm 4 days post op from a calcaneal osteotomy, peroneal tendon repair and a gastrocnemius recession. Has anyone on here had anything similiar? I'd love to hear about your recovery and what to expect. Thanks in Advance.

    HI Jennifer,

I've had Ligament and tendon reconstruction from falling a while ago. I haven' thad the rest. I"m assuming that your recovery will be a bit longer than me.  I had mine on Nov 13, 17 and I'm still in pain on a  daily basis.  I can wear a New Balance sneaker but by about 30 to 45 mins of being on my feet I'm pretty hurting.

Your so new into this, just take the time to relax and heal.

    Best of luck to you,

    Rose

I remember I had a nerve block and even before it wore off the nurses from the hospital were calling and telling me to take my pain meds. Also I was surprised where the incision for the lengthening was, totally not where I was expecting it! And when I go through airport security now, they immediately check my foot... I'm like, it's a bolt, lol! I know it's setting off your sensors but I can't very well hold up the plane with it! Anyway, it really was totally worth it. Other than some numbness on the outside of that foot, I have absolutely no problems with it now. And I used to ask them to chop it off and just nail on a block of wood, because I'd walk just as well! Best of luck to you!

      Hi

It's funny you talk about chopping it off. I was at that point at 4 this morning where I would have gladly chopped it off and it probably would have felt better. My nurses did the same thing with me and my block. I didn't realize how much the block was helping until it completely wore off. Glad to hear it eventually gets better and is worth all of these struggles. Take care!!

Yeah, afterward I was like, great, now I CAN'T chop it off, there's too much money invested in it! 😂
