Can anyone help Rafaelo Procedure

Hello Everyone,  I’ve been suffering from piles for some time now.  I’ve been told about the Rafaelo procedure, as it suggests,  will the surgery be painless.  Please advise or share story of those who have had this particular procedure please.  Thank you for any help.

I have pretty advanced haemorrhoids, so I'm interested in anything that works, but I don't want a few inches of the rectum or the anal canal removed.

So I'm interested to know if the Rafaelo Procedure works for all haemorrhoids, or just the early, simple ones.

Only a consultant will be able to give you a definitive answer, but it should work for pretty advanced haemorrhoids. Apparently even some grade 4 can be treated. I've just had three large grade 3 piles treated this morning. So far so good. Will report back in a few weeks.

Hi Nabila...Did you happen to get the Rafaelo procedure done. I had mine last week. Just want to check post the procedure I am getting blood in stool and after every bm it's quite painfull. Is it normal.

Hi Nabila. The Rafaelo Procedure is a new technology, effective, safe and painless. I had it done last week and am back to work almost immediately. I saw an excellent consultant Mr Mo Saeed at Haemoorhoid centre of excellence. Here's their number 0161 495 7754. Good luck

Hi IanMCR - I went through this procedure 3 weeks back, I had two Grade-2 Hemorrhoids, My initial problem was the skin swelling during and post BM around anus (prolapsing hemorrhoids with immediate reduction). In the first week post ops it was fine, but that skin swelling has returned back..did you also face the same thing. I am worried if Hemorrhoids have returned??

Hi Tej0001 - I’m debating this procedure too. How are things with you now? Has it all settled and been worth it?

    Hi Everyone

I had the Rafaelo procedure 3 weeks ago,I have suffered from piles for 8 yrs and came across the article for the Rafaelo procedure.i had tried everything non surgical and really didn’t fancy the traditional op which I have heard was horrendous!!

I had the consultation and the surgeon suggested i had 3 grade 3 hems and the operation would be suitable.

I had the op at spire hospital in Leeds under a sedative, came back around about 25 mins later in no pain but was really numb in area.

The surgeon told me everything went great and there were in fact 7 big hems he had shrunk.i was a little shocked!!

After short recovery I made my way home with paracetamol and laxatives and was told I may be in a little pain and to expect some bleeding in the 2nd week and this was normal as it was the piles basically leaving the body after they had shrunk!!

Next morning after the local anaesthetic had worn off I was in really bad pain,I rang my doctor and he prescribed me with morphine and an additional laxative to prevent constipation..

This really helped and after 3 days the pain subcided but was still a little constipated which blood was visible during Bm.

Day 6 was really different with the urge to go to loo and with major blood loss and blood clots also coming out..this happened 6 times in the space of 3 hours,it was really distressing and resulted in my wife taking me to a&e as I was so worried about the amount of blood and the clots which were huge.

Long story short they kept me in for 3 nights and I was still in pain.No more blood day 7 but still pain, gave me morphine and paracetamol to ease pain

Day 10 I left hospital with a little pain.

Day 11 I started to go to loo as normal with no blood or pain.

I would say I am back to normal now but still take 1 laxative a day just to keep things moving easier.

Don’t be put off though with the above comments because it really is the best thing I have done.!!Hem free and no pain..like living a new life really.

I think the procedure is going to be the future for piles but it advertises itself as a miracle with no pain and back to work in days.

In my case that wasn’t to be,but I did have 7 and with less it may be much easier to recover?

Go for it,but just expect possible pain and bleeding.

Thanks for Sharing.  I am still waiting for my treatment.  Can I ask was this done private and how much it cost?  As I live in Sheffield.  This would be closer to me as I was referred to a BMI Hospital in London.  Any info would be useful?
