Can Anyone Relate?

I've posted quite a bit on here about my health/anxiety. I wanted to just list my current symptoms and situation and see if anyone feels like me:

Havey/weak arms and legs

Fatigued

Foot cramps

Burning in stomach and chest

Going to the bathroom a lot (both)

Taste of acid in mouth

Shaking hands and legs

Joint pain

Muscle pain

Dry eyes

Light headed/feeling like I'm not grounded

Feeling like my limbs are floating

No apetite

Hard time sleeping without Benadryl

Feeling off

Hard times getting deep breath

Extreme panic especially in the morning and at night

Feeling like parts of my body are made of anxiety (don't know how else to explain it)

So far I've had a throat ultrasound (nothing), 2 trips to ER over heart issues (xrays and ekgs found nothing), echo (nothing), and several simple exams by my regular doctor (reflexes, eyes, ears, muscle strength). I feel like I'm going totally insane. My doctor said it has to be anxiety. In a way I feel like I need an MRI to be sure but at the same time maybe that's just a waste. Maybe I just need to accept that it's anxiety. But at the same time I feel like something else is going on. Idk what to do. I started seeing a therapist this week but Idt I like her so I'm going to have to switch. Just another stressor to add.

Did you get tested for epstein barr virus (mono virus)? I honestly think you have a virus! I have had all of those symptoms with my long term virus.

Doctors suck so much. Ive been looking through all these health anxiety posts and it really seems like so many of you guys have the same symptoms as me. If you haven't already i would suggest checking out the mononucleosis ehealth forum as theres lots of real life experiences in there with odd symptoms. Also you could try going to a different ER or doctor and don't mention anything about anxiety etc just tell them you've been super fatigued and feeling unwell and weak and could they possibly test for viruses. So many people on ehealth foruk got fobbed off as having an anxiety disorder before they got a proper disgnosis.

I honestly dont think there's anything terrible happening to you but i do believe something is going on (ie. Something viral or some sort of internal imbalance) that's more than anxiety and that you will get better in time. Do you find the symptoms set off your anxiety or you have anxiety and then the physical symptoms start?

All of your issues, and the tests, say anxiety. Everyone here has experienced most or all of these symptoms.

i'm surprised your doctor did not prescribe meds. When i went to urgent care with many of the same things and more, the doctor prescribed meds that calmed me enough to seek ways I could help myself deal with anxiety. I found this forum and it has been an education, as well as a great support system.

If I were you I would take an hour or two and read through some of the other anxiety discussions here. You will be surprised at how many symptoms match yours. It will be well worth your time, as most people have a hard time accepting that anxiety can do all these things to a person. Hugs to you, Aquin

Not sure where you live but I live in the US and at least where I am it is not common for regular doctors to prescribe medication. It might be because there is a prescription drug problem where I am. I think doctors are very wary about giving young people pills. Sadly Cia I know too much about anxiety as I'm studying to become a clinical psychologist myself. This site has helped me a lot these last few months. Thanks for replying

In my 70+ years, I have never been to a doctor that could not or would not prescribe meds if needed. I am in the US and never heard that it is not common for regular doctors to prescribe. That's the only kind of doctor I usually go to when needed.

When I went to urgent care, a basket case, not yet knowing it was anxiety I was dealing with, the doctor prescribed right away. I felt that he saved my sanity. Since then I have learned a lot on this forum about other ways to help me help myself.

This forum, along with my years as a counselor, have been a godsend. I feel like I got my life back. There are wonderful, caring, knowledgable, supportive people here who are really rather wonderful.wink

I feel like this even when I'm not anxious. It's the best at night when I'm alone watching tv. The rest of the day it's pretty terrible

    Hi Mandie,

may I ask how old you are and as your name suggests you are female ? do you think it's possible you maybe experiencing pre menapause , just a thought, I could be way off base. There's a couple of symptoms  that doesn't  fit the panic bill, a virus, could be, but if you went to an emergency department they would of ordered bloods and something would of shown, they wouldn't have to be looking for a specific virus until your initial blood work came back as something would of been out of whack, also generally a doctor can diagnose a virus straight up.

Do you drink enough? The muscle pains, joint pain, dry eyes..im wondering if you are dehydrated regularly and you use benadryl to sleep which would make it worse.  You have to seperate out some of the symptoms. Theres anxiety ones but others maybe not be anxiety. Burning stomach and taste in mouth can be to gerd..reflux. Also if you drank enough would wash down the acid reflux. I hope you drink nutritional shakes. With no appetite your sugarl levels will be off which can trigger anxiety like feelings especially in the morning. Even when you see a therapist or if you go on anxiety meds you still need to be hydrated and eat. It has been so hot here and so humid and gross this summer. See if you can get some gatorade and drink a lot. Thry have those 8 packs with decent sized water bottle sized ones. Try three a day of those and four water bottles. Id say get rid of the benadryl completely if you can. Its too drying. I know sleep might be messed up without the benadryl but i think your messing yourself up with them. They have l theanine suntheanine helps sleep. I dont know just opinion.

I've been drinking plenty of water but I'm sure not eating has really messed up the nutrients my body needs. I went without Benadryl last night and has a better nights sleep. Didn't realize Benadryl would dry me out

Thats what benadry is for. Anti histamine. Its really a bad idea also increases occular pressure and headaches along with the dehydration. Strong  too. Many use it to sleep. Its a bad idea. Theres alternatives. Some sleeping pills use that as their ingredient too so be careful. Suntheanine otheanine, chamomile, fresh turkey, there are alternatives.
