Hi
i usually post on the IBS boards as my Doctor seems to think that's what i have. I dont !
Again today i have been in bed all day as i was up for 3 hours during the night with diarroeah and bad stomach cramps. My anus is really sore now.
But why I am here is because I feel i may have Colitis. Im due to see my Gastro in January again and am going to demand some tests EG@ colonoscopy. Today after I had been to the toilet so many times there was nothing left in my stomach, except mucus, but this mucus had bright red blood in it, not loads but it was definetely there. This scared me a lot. Also when i wiped it had a tiny amount of bright red blood on the paper.
I have had so many test done over the past 2 years. Ultrasound of my organs EG liver, pancreas, kidneys, and uterus including ovaries. I have also had a HIDA gall bladder scan done too, all came back normal.
So what am i suffering from? I have almost constant diarreah with mucos but today there was blood and I'm scared (

I'm not 100% sure it is Colitis until I get a diagnosis. Obviously im worried its something even worse. But the Doctor trateing me says that cancer is the easiest disease to find and diagnose. Something shows up pretty quick with that and alarm bells would ring way before the place im at right now, as i have had lots of other tests. But its still in my mind.
I just am heading to January now to get to see the specialist and maybe finally diagnose whatever this is, as it's not something I would wish on anyone.

I have had a rotten Xmas
Since diarreah 4 days ago I haven't been to the toilet. Today I went a bit as I'm now a bit constipated. I was horrified when I looked as my poo had red mucous around it. Quite a lot and not bright red it looked like it had been there a while. Would it have been darker if the poo in my bowel had been sitting there days ? As I've not been for days. I'm so worried it's darker red now.
Sorry I'm being graphic. I just keep thinking it's bowel cancer I've had two samples tested in past month which were normal. Would they look for bowel cancer in a poo ? All my bloods are normal too.
I'm so scared I can't function

i don't know where you are you are posting from & how your health is now but hope you are getting the help you deserve.
I'm posting from England. I was having exactly the same symptons as you in June 2013 & I thought omg its cancer. I didn't go to the docs as other stressful things in my life were priority. I had a camera in August 2013 & was diagnosed with ulcerativel colitis. I stayed awake throughout the procedure & could see my colon red raw with darker blood blister spots. After various medications all administered via un unbelievably sore & excruciating painful rectum I got so thin, weak & ill that I went onto prenisolene( steroids) in oral form in September 2013. I was advised to go into hospital for steriod infusions. I immediately felt fantastic which proved how awful I'd been denying I was feeling. After 13 months on steroids I came off them with the drug Humira taking over. Unfortunately due to late injections I recently started diarrhea again & then blood & mucus & exactly like you ate little, lost weight, felt awful, I also had a cold/flu symptons.. Like dragging yourself through treacle. It affects your mind as well! Eventually on the 18th December i broke down & got an doctors appointment the same day. I was reluctantly admitted into hospital that evening & hydrated given two lots of antibiotics a 5-7 day course of steroids by infusion & potassium. I instantly started to feel better & came out of hospital on 23rd December 2014.
so, I advise you to ring your doctor soon or take yourself to A&E( take a bag with you). You can't keep taking Immodium because that's not really advised when your bowl is so sore & the walls could be weakened, they'll probably organise a camera sooner & you'll need hydrating & stronger meds. Please don't just wait & put up with it. Once you start to feel well you'll realise how poorly you are. Also crohns colitis UK have a great website if you feel you can't ring your doctor today & they have an advise & help line. Good luck.
