Hello, I am 49 years old.  I first got my period at the age of 9, too young.  Anyway, for  the past few years I am feeling things I have never felt before.  Periods are lighter and shorter, come late or early.  Exhausted at times, anxiety, foggy.  But, now I am noticing joint pain.  My knees, my elbows, my hands, hips..Could this be part of Perimenopause? my Gyno. said I am in it..but i wish she would have given more details of the physical symptoms....getting very upset..someone please help me out..

Its a great book. Talks about panic attacks palpitations etc. I know these symptoms are perimenopause related and not necessarily bad nerves but it gives really good insighton dealing with these symptoms. I hope your ok hun. So good to have you to talk to. As ive said many times before this site is a Godsend. Thanks for checking in with me. Sending hugs

Get referred to menopause clinic asap and get the most suitable support for the transition.  Not all gynaes are menopause trained.  It took me 2 years to get the right help and now I feel the fog has lifted honestly mad I didn't get HRT before. It's not for everyone, I could not have myrena coil because of fibroids so get referred and all the best

Thank you so much for your reply Tracey, I just can't get over the whole thing.  I just keep thinking something else is wrong.  Even though I don't have the symptoms of say Fibromyalgia or MS....So I guess it has to be Peri.  Even my Neuro said I don't have the trigger points for Fibro.  But last year when I was 48, it was more brain fog, headaches, mood swings.  Now the brain fog is a bit better, but my body feels like I'm 90 years old.  I have always been and still are a active person..why does Peri cause this? and I just finished ovulating..and I am in the middle of my cycle.  Are Peri symptoms worse around now?  I guess it's hormones right?? Ugh!!!!rolleyes
