Hi Linda - this isn't about the oil, but about the plant! My husband has MS, part of his symptons is the intense pain - although he can walk luckily! We had a musician staying with us who kept telling him cannibis would help the pain, but my husband is SO against drugs that he refused to listen. One day after a night of pain, this musician nipped out & came back with an envelope that to me looked like grass cuttings - he told me it was £20. We knew my husband wouldn't smoke it, so he told me to make cheese on toast for supper, & sprinkle copius of the "stuff" on it, & say it was herbs. So he wouldn't be suspicious, I put it on all our slices (in for a penny etc etc!!). Well...we sat there for 2 hours waiting for my husband to say something/look different, & to be honest, we all felt totally normal...we kept asking him so often "how do you feel"...that he smelt a rat, & we had to explain! Seems we really had been sold dead grass cuttings, as no one had any effects whatsoever.!! End of the experiment! Years later he went under a clinical trial, where cannibus spray goes under the tongue, but it brought his mouth out in ulcers, so end of that! He sticks to normal pain relief now! Sorry to go on...but you brought back memories of 20 years ago!!

Medical marijuana and recreational or personal use pot is legal in a couple of state's and people who have found it helps their situation are actually moving there so they can obtain Ann use as needed. As far as the oil, I have never heard of this application and not sure how one would go about obtaining the product. Personally I'm not into recreational drug use (although sometimes my typing skills would show otherwise) But I've never understood why it can't be used as needed for m edical reasons. I saw a story yesterday of an infant being treated by Dr's with pot and was getting great results for a rare condition. I'll ask our nephew who is an infectious disease Dr about this. Also see if my personal pain management guy knows anything.

Linda....I sent you a response but the moderator intercepted it. Guess it had some words or phrases that are deemed as taboo. Oh well....maybe it'll get through later in the day.

As long as you have a script the pharmcy is bound by law to fill it. That's not to say that computers and cross checking are Mark I ng sure you aren't abusing the system. Also, most insurance companies will only only give you a scant 30 day supply and monitor refills with a jaundiced eye. The price however is really cheap compared to most drugs. Here, especially those of us. retired and on and on medicare, everything thing is tiered and the less insurance compnies want to pay the higher the tier the drug is placed. My wife has Parkinson's disease and is on a drug, cinniment (carbidopa/levadopa), to reduce tremors. The insurance company tripled our copay this year for something as necessary and inexpensive. Th ex price to the pharmacy from the mfg hasn't gone up, the druggies is making any more profit, the consumer that desperately needs it is the bottom line for the insurance company. Plus it isnt even a drug that can or is abused in any manner. Of course you just get worn out so you donf even try and discuss it. I think 20th a T I s what they 91st d thinking.....its a market segment of old, sick, worn out people.....the don't have any fight left in them anyway.

too true !!! .yes here also it phamcutical companys who rule afraid that we wont need their drugs it is more about profits than health im afraid

I was sent cannibalize drops , meant for anxiety , but will work on pain. My sister in California sent it to me here in Massachusetts . Her dr. Friend got it for her, as u have to have a liscence for medical marijuana in order to buy it.

i used it the first 4-5 weeks post TKR surgery. I think it helped; hard to know when I was taking codeine and Tylenol as well. Actually u just reminded me that I have it and I will try it tomorrow. I'll let u know if I notice any results. I'm 10 weeks post op.

I will try today. Then I'll report in. I feel so sorry for all of you that need so many meds. I've never been able to tolerate most medications; very chemically sensitive! Maybe I'm lucky in that way, as I haven't taken a lot, only codeine  during day, every 4 hours and Tylenol every 8 hours. I quit at about 4/5 weeks out. I have now been taking Aleve, which is naproxen  , one in a.am. And one in the p.m. Has been affecting my stomach, so since yesterday I stopped. Will see how I do. I'm not in excruciating pain, just aches and nerve pain. All very disconcerting.

Meds are a double edged sword. They are great when needed , but mostly always have one side effect or another. I'll report in!

SOO I tried the drops, to be honest they did nothing for the pain, just made me more relaxed.perhaps if they were specifically for pain they would work. I think they would. We asked at my surgeons office if they would prescribe them, said they don't. A shame!

Well, I took a walk outside today w/ hubby, and when I got back was in pain. Finally gave in and started on the Aleve again tonite.

When does this pain and discomfort ever end? I just have to go back to thinking what I'm grateful for: that this is not a disease, that I have good medical care and pt, that my family is healthy and this too shall pass !!!!

Its One of those things that just gradually fades away and isnt there any more........kind of like youth. Then every once in awhile you do something out of the ordinary and the pain popscup again, you start to worth about having injured something and boom.....its gone. Glad you are able to get out and that your weather has gotten nice enough to allow it. It hit 73° F Saturday to tie a record. We went with friends to an arboratum f or a short outing and almost did too much. This is still zero weather with snow, ice and wind in this part of the country usually d o really was nice to get the break.
