Epilepsy in its various forms is a life changing disorder. Medicines can be effective but can have some unpleasant side effects. The problem with using cannabis as a medicine is complicated. The trouble is that using cannabis is illegal in the UK. We can get round that but that means that we have to buy from drug dealers. Why would we trust these people to supply us with genuine cannabis. Even the word "cannabis" seems to provoke moral panic and eye-catching headlines. My view is that this is a shame because we then miss out on the medicinal potential of the compounds in the plant. I think that some limited research is carried out but it will be a long time before cannabis hits the streets legally, if ever. Now, it depends what is meant by cannabis oil. After all you can buy hemp oil in the supermarket. I would be very unlikely to buy cannabis oil from the internet simply because you have no idea as to what it contains. As I understand it, the active compounds occur mainly in the female flower. Maybe it would be better to talk to the doctor for advice first. And certainly to learn more about the plant would be helpful.

Its a state by state issue and not legal but in a few. I live in a state where it isnt legal but the state boardering on our west is legal not only for medical but recreational marijuana. We are having people moving out there because of conditions like the one listed above. Personally I am anti recreational drug use as I've seen too many cases where simple pot using has led to much more addictive drug use plus I'm not sure I want to be on the road at high speed with a bunch of stoned pot heads around me at high speed. However it seems crazy to have people suffering from diseases that can be controlled by medical marijuana and not use it.
