Cardiac Ablation

Well, I am having my ablation for SVT on May 31/16. Any words of wisdom for me? I stopped the Bisoprolol today for the procedure. I am very anxious

about this procedure.

Hi! If you have a serious case of a form of tachycardia (in my case up to 5 and a half hours of 200bpm) I would advise going in through the arm, or anywhere other than the leg. I don't mean to scare anyone, I was just in that 2/5% of people with complications due to severity! however a severe case can cause trauma in the leg (won't go into detail). Something I would highly look into is your severity as from personal experience, I would've now chose my arm due to nerve damage now.

Most people the leg is fine, I wish you the best of luck in recovery!

Best of luck tomorrow, Lola.  Some years, June 22 is the first day of summer. Maybe tomorrow will be the first day of a long-lasting summer of better health for you.

Thank you Gene for remembering. I will let you know how it goes. Just trying to get through the anxiety. Maybe in a couple days I can get back up to my cottage and relax. Let's hoping.......

24 hours and you will have your life back. Looking forward to seeing your comments post op. Don't forget though that it may take a few weeks for your ticker to settle down.

Hi wanted to get your opinion, I have Wolf Parkinson White, which cause heart beat to raise too. They are recommending ablation, but ive been postponning it due to the fear of something going wrong. Can anyone help me out with the feedback if you had the procedure done already. Thanks

Hi Jose, sorry I do not have that condition. They told me it is AVNRT.I am having ablation tomorrow in Toronto Canada

Wolff Parkinson White is just a more serious form of SVT pretty much. I have WPW and am on the waiting list for ablation and the procedure is the same as someone with regular SVT.

Plenty of online info available, Jose. I haven't read the WPW story lately, but I think you'll find quite a bit of encouraging news out there. We all wish you very well.

Not the news we wanted to hear, Lola. I'm saddened for you. I strongly suspect your cardiologist is very disappointed for you, too. Please let us know how your recovery progresses. In a few days, you'll be able to make a good decision as to what to do next.  I'm still optimistic that you'll soon experience successful treatment.   Please take very good care of yourself.
