Well, I am having my ablation for SVT on May 31/16. Any words of wisdom for me? I stopped the Bisoprolol today for the procedure. I am very anxious

about this procedure.

Good luck, please update on how everything goes. I'm on the waiting list for my ablation which should be sometime in the next 3 months so I can understand ur nerves but im sure it will be great! I've heard a lot of ppl say the waiting is the absolute worst part of the whole experience - let's hope that's true! Good luck and I hope ur SVT free very soon!

      Hi Sarah

Weel I went for ablation yesterday, and it was cancelled until June 22/16

My anxiety was through the roof yesterday. My legs would not even carry me. Shaky, jittery  and jerking. Even though I felt that way I just wanted to get it done. Now another 3 weeks......

Hi, I would just think about the benefits of the procedure.  You will be fine, put your trust in the amazing people in the team working on you. You will feel absolutely nothing in your chest/heart, so it's all good.  Just take it really easy for a couple of days after the procedure and let your family spoil you, haha....biggrin

      Hi Graham,

Thank you for your kind words. I am just so anxious about this whole thing. I had to stop the Bisoprolol 5 days prior to this procedure so I think that is playing on me too. My heart rate has increased quite a bit, so along with the sweats and jittery legs, I am quite a mess. Hope this will be all worth it...........I am such a weiner

Well Graham, went yesterday for the ablation and got cancelled until June 22/16. I was an anxiety wreck. Legs were rubbery, shaking and jerking. I just wanted to get done with it. This i suspect is anxiety as I have many other symptoms. Just wanted to be done with this

Well I went for my ablation today....and it got cancelled until  June 22/16. I was so dissappointed. I was so anxious there. My legs were like jelly and I could not get them to stop shaking and jerking. They took me for a tour to the cath lab thinking that might help me next time. Now another 3 weeks to think about it.

Aw what a pity. Do your best to chill out about it and not dread the delay but look forward to getting rid of SVT for good! smile

That you didn't need, Lola. What if  each time you begin thinking about your coming ablation, you try telling yourself to stop doing so, and then think about something you enjoy. You could carry a card with something like "STOP!" on it.

Regardless, your ablation will arrive sooner than you can now imagine, and I remain very optimistic for you.  Take good care of yourself.

Thank you Gene for your kind words. Yes maybe I should do what you suggested. I would probably have to tape it on my face  though and stare at it constantly...........Thank for caring

Well tomorrow is your day smile I'll be thinking about you. Don't worry. All will go just fine. Have faith. The electrophysiologists do hundreds of these operations per month. They know exactly what they are doing. You'll be so much happier afterwards. Good luck! smile Let me know how you feel in a few days smile I'll be waiting to hear from you. God bless.

Good luck tomorrow and remember to just go with the flow and chill out with the sedatives. It'll all be over before you know it. Hope it works as well for you as it did for me!

Hi, its seems you already went tru ablation yourself, any words of incouragement? I was diagnosed with Wolf parkinson white syndrome and my cardiologist recommending ablation. Ive been postponing this due to fear of it.

Hi Jose, I'm only sorry I didn't have the ablation until I had no choice. It really was no big deal compared to just one bad SVT episode. Ablation changed my life so much for the better. Go for it as soon as you can and live a normal life afterwards. Ask any questions you like, we're here to listen and help if we can.

What were you Diagnosed with that you needed ablation? How was the procedure? Were you awake? Painful? Once you had it done how did it go? How long did your episodes last?

The SVT was probably manageable on its own. But when I was having chemo with a lot of IV steroids for blood cancer my heart went so seriously mad that the cancer people refused to continue chemo unless the heart people did something about the SVT. I was awake throughout. More weird than painful. But the sedatives help to chill you out. I thank the cancer for getting rid of horrible SVT!

Wow!! Seems that your case was much more complicated. Are you better now with SVT and cancer treatment? I finally decided that I will get the ablation done. Im looking in to getting it done sometime in August.
