Cast off 😁

Posted , 7 users are following.

I got my cast off today.

He said I can start walking straight away (in a moon boot of course)

He told me I had to do ankle exercises but didn't actually give me any to do can anyone tell me what to do with regards to these as my physio appointment isn't for another month.

Also when to get rid of my moon boot?

I'd just like to also thank the people on here who have commented on my previous posts for all the support and words of advice 😁

Have my appointment a week Friday where I'm hoping to get my cast off after 7 weeks. It's been the longest 7 weeks of my life.!! But we still have a uphill struggle ahead of us. But just being able to feel the ground under the foot after no weight barring will be one step closer to recovery. Good luck sandra

I was 9 weeks had 2 operations it's great to finally have a good scrub and be able to walk albeit with crutches still. But I'm walking in getting further than I was hopping.

I've had very little pain but a lot of swelling so be prepared to rest still xx

Oooooo just the thought of being able to wash my leg n foot. Sounds like heaven. Only just got a seat for the bath so can now shower with one leg in n one out until the waterproof leg cover comes hopefully tomorrow, then no stopping me. Such little things that are taken away from us. Hope the swelling calms down soon. Sandrs

What surgery have you had done?

Try and keep your spirits high.

I know sometimes it's easier said than done but there is light at the end of the tunnel, may not feel like it at times but there is.

I am still in moon boot weight bearing week 17 after surgery. I go and see the specialist today hoping that I can do some walking without the moon boot. My specialist doesn't believe in physio so I have been doing some of the exercises on youtube. Can't remember the guys name however lots of different ones.

    Good luck

Hang in there Marian I was 20 weeks in boot and now finally in shoe. When out of the boot keep the foot and toes mo I got it will help you progress faster. My doc didn't recommend physio but Went anyway and found it very helpful. They know muscles and how to get your joints moving again.

      Hang in there!!

My doctor instructed me to push my heel on a hard surface until you feel your calf muscles. Do it few times while sitting on a chair. Do it gently. I'm wearing a boot but not FBW just about 20%. My fracture are not completely healed. He took off my cast coz my ankle was so stiff. I was on a cast for 2 months.
