    Hi Carl15289

    and Frank 27027

I agree with Carl always good idea to keep a spare leg bag with you , best be prepared for everything..

Leakage from the site I find "For Me " is usually caused by an overly full bladder .

Saying that the most I void is only about 170mls

Good luck both ,stay safe x

Hi bae 39. I have to ask you an important question,as i'm sure you would know? What secure device do you use for your suprapubic catheter? I use a Statlock, and i'm not pleased with it . It opens at times, also in bed with the night bag.THanks for this info. I have learned more from this forum than i have from my doctors.

stay well and god less you.

      Hi Frank27027

I did reply re above but sent you a link to a website .

It's been passed to the group moderators

maybe not allowed to send links...whoops I apologise to the group if that is the case ..

However , I do not like the statlock at all..

      I use a "sleeve "

Online many will send you free samples to try ..

The "ugo sleeve " is longer

or any of the suppliers sell them

      Hi Frank

The sleeve works for me as I am in a wheelchair so I don't require much support for the cath tube, but if you are mobile you may require :

      see below :-

However, if you require more support and don't like the statlock I did try the

"Ugo Fix Gentle " they are silicone base ,so no skin prep, and kinder to skin

Or, the Ugo Fix catheter strap ..

I believe they will send you a sample of both Frank ..

      Take care my friend x

Hi bae 39--,Thank you so much for this info.I have learned more on this forum than i have from doctors. I have noticed that i don't get the urge to pee with the flip flow sometimes,so at least every hour or sooner i do my thing.I don't think it would hurt any by doing this. If you don't mind my asking, how did you get this bladder problem?

I will check this Ureteric Reflux bag i assume this i what it is?I use alcohol pads to clean the flip flow, how do you clean yours?Do you leave this valve in all day ? then change to a night bag at bed time?Thats what i do.

I;m like you before surgery i was doing CIC 7-to 10 times a day. After my surgery they tell me I have aggressive prostate cancer? I was surprised --again!!

LIfe is like a bowel of cherries, don;t take it serious it;s to mysterious?

thank you very much for all your info/

Hi. would appreciate your support and help as have so many questions.

I'm a 62 year old fit and healthy male living in UK. I say healthy, other than a duff urinary system.

Detrusor failure has meant ive been unable to fully void for a long time. 3 years ago i was put onto CIC to try and retrain the muscle/bladder into full working order. It hasnt worked and more to the point i have suffered with constant UTI issues, over 20 in last couple of years. The problem seems to be the prostate area and ongoing soreness, leading to the infections.

As such have now been booked in to have an SPC fitted. Am i doing the right thing?

I currently wait until i have about 500ml before weeing, manage to void c100ml and then cath the remainder. My hope is i will still be able to do this with an SPC? .. is there a limit as to what i will be able to retain in the bladder before it will start to leak around the pipe? .. I defo do not want a bag fitted. BUT, equally i want to retain the ability to normally void (even if only a little) .. i fear i will lose the urge to go if i never normally void again. as said i cannot void below 500ml so i will need to get above this as a minimum.

i hope this question makes sense, would really value any help and support. Tim
