CBT tomorrow

Posted , 7 users are following.

I have my first ever CBT appointment tomorrow and don't know what to expect. I am actually feeling slightly less anxious than i was months ago when i went to the GP and got the referral. I have been on fluoxetine for a couple of weeks now and have managed a shopping trip on my own yesterday and just noticing that I am getting through the day without huge panic attacks or fear of dying... Still got moderate anxiety but its not debilitating... Now i think when i get to the therapy tomorrow they will think I am a fraud!

    Hello Tracie,

I started CBT a few weeks ago. With my therapist we talk a lot. How it started, when you get them, what you think triggers them, how's your week been... At the end of each session she tells me what to work on for the next session... Ie: this week you have to avoid safety behaviours (stop reading about anxiety, when intrusive thoughts are coming in don't push them away but float with them...).

She makes me feel calmer and "normal" when the anxiety is really bad.

Right now I wish I could speak to her. I'm on holiday and I am not feeling really good. I keep freAking out as I'm not home and have to spend another 3 days here and it feels like a life time!

I hope CBT will help x
