Change in Ejaculatory Force and Volume Post-PAE

Posted , 10 users are following.

I am about 6 weeks post-PAE and am noticing changes in ejaculatory force and volume.  Specifically, these have diminished greatly from pre-PAE.  It almost feels like the smooth muscle part of the ejaculation has forgotten how to do it, or is not quite coordinated.  I am not experiencing retrograde ejaculation, but more of a weak force that ends up more like oozing than ejaculating.  Wonderful improvements in urine stream, emptying, etc, but surprised about this new change and hoping it is temporary.  Would love to hear from anyone else experiencing this and whether it will improve or not.

Chris    It is no problem any time you need to vent I would be happen to talk with you.  I know the feeling. You need and want that orgasm to be the same after a procedure and when it's not you kind of go crazy.   That is why I pick to have a urolift.  I was not a fan of  retro and had it with a pill that the urologist gave me.  The first time that happen it was not the same I asked myself whats wrong.  They I read side effects I felt not right.  A few month's ago I went into bladder retenion ended up having emergency surgery Had 3 blood clogs around my prostate had them taking care off was in the hospital for 3 days had a 24 hour flush.  I could not wait to get that 22fr catheter out.  When I came home I was worried about my prostate A hour after I got home had to see if all was ok.  It was did have some blood.  I know I should have waited but sometimes we rush into things.  Take your parter out for dinner and come home and just relax cuddle and watch a movie.  Enjoy each other in time it should be better..  Ken

      Hi Chris!

I can't say I've noticed much improvement and if it doesn't get better, I would consider this a pretty significant side effect that should be discussed upfront, and fully investigated to understand what went wrong.

Out of the number of people who have talked about their PAE experience on the site, I would say the two of us constitute about 25 to 30%. My guess is that people are not talking about this because it's sensitive and little embarrassing. We need to get the word out there because I don't think I would've had the procedure if I knew this was a possible risk.

I think all men should try to tell all of there improvement and side effect if any.  That is way most of the of men are not having the older procedures that cause retro or other side effect.   I know it is a little embarrassing to talk with another man about sex and thing like that but it would help to tell us all if the procedure you have work in all of the functions.  Before any procedure you have look at the good and the bad before you pick one.  Take care all  Ken

I see problems post PAE are coming out and those who had PAE performed are now complaining and regreting the procedure. Same complain as with TURP: not enough info given to patients by performing radiologists.

And I will stress it again: When you embolizes artery or a branch of artery, it is always tendency colateral circulation around embolizes point to develop and start feeding embolized organ with blood supply.
