Changes to accessing notifications

Posted , 4 users are following.

Now I have to click twice to read a notification.  There used to be a permanent notifications tab and I could go directly to a notification.  Now I have to open the notifications list every time.  Is this supposed to be an improvement?  Does anyone know how to contact the site to question this change?

I look at the main page for the forum that lists all the topics.

Below each post is number of replies and something like "Last reply 37 minutes ago" which is a link.

I'm a bit selective about what I read.

Originally clicking it took me to the last reply. A few weeks ago that degraded to taking me to the topic with a bizarre sort sequence.

Now its no longer a link.

For any topic with more than a few posts there's an awful lot of scrolling to figure out where the discussion is up to.

    Bah humbug

I just click on the notification and it takes me right to that particular reply.  If it's been an active post I often read a lot of the new posts there and then, and try to click them as read on my list of new notifications so I'm not wasting too much time looking at things already seen.  The notifications list I still see, with that stupid extra click, is sorted with the most recent at the top, but you can also go to a page and view all your unread notifications at once, although you can't actually read them, you just can see how many there are and how long ago they were posted.

Especially with the "nesting" thing which I hate. But this one is better than the one on HealthUnlocked - that really is a nightmare!
