I'm sorry to keep posting about heart related issues but I can't stop worrying about these symptoms. Can anyone describe in full detail how anxiety makes your chest feel? And does it ever make you woozy at the same time.do you ever get strange feeling that comes over you as well its hard to explain how it feels.

Hey i seen your post 2 years ago about your chest feeling like what it is and thats the same thing that im going through right now. It feels like an empty sensation sort of and it freaks me out. Ive been to the doctor and they said nothing was wrong with me so right now im just thinking its just anxiety. And I also get that same pulling feeling, like everytime I stand up I feel like my legs are just going to give out but the never do. Are you still going through it if not what did you do to get rid of it

I get twinges in my left side, pressure in the centre and under my ribs. Twinges in my back too. Also feels like I'm breathless and can't take a full breath.

I get the breathless I'm constantly taking deep breathes for no reason, but I get this feeling come over me and it feels like I'm going to flop out I get woozy and my chest feels weird no pain but I do get these little electrical pains in chest if that makes sense moves around. I also have this sensation like I'm being pulled whether I'm sitting, laying, standing or walking. Makes me feel like something is truing to pull me out of body strange I know but that's the best way to describe it. I also feel like I'm swaying a lot and I'm not or a dropping sensation. But what scares me is the pulling sensation and the chest feeling weird and the woozy head all at the same time

I used to suffer daily from extreme panic/anxiety attacks until about 6 months ago.

I would either hold my breath or hyperventilate, also was convinced that I was having a heart attack, along with severe pain in my back and extremeties going numb.  I now do mindful breathing, simple, just be aware of your breathing, breathe in gently through your nose and exhale through you mouth.  Also found that distracting myself helped, go outside, call someone, watch tv, listen to music, anything to take your mind off of what is happening.  I used to end up in the emergency room at the hopsital - A LOT.  Turns out that I have COPD and now have an inhaler that I use when necessary.  Good luck to you and remember that even though it feels as if you are going to die when having a panic/anxiety attack - you won't die, it is just an attack and will pass, thankfully.  Good luck and take care.

And the pains never last in chest and it's not all the time its more if that fear feeling in chest but still I feel as this isn't all anxiety

The pains in the chest aren't real Anxiety attacks are something there to protect you if you keep worrying your gonna have an attack but the pains are nothing to be alarmed about let them happen the more you do and don't care they will just dissappear

Not sure that it's a good idea to ignore pains in the chest whether during an anxiety attack or not.  It, the pain, could definitely be something more serious than a result of the attack.  As far as the pain not being real, I suffered from anxiety/panic attacks for years and the pain is real Kevin. Luckily I was taken by ambulance to the ER during one of my episodes and had experienced a minor stroke.  So better to be safe than sorry is my feeling on the subject.  In other words, get help if you are experiencing pains in the chest.

Thanks I'll try that just let it happen I do take slow deep breathes when this comes over me but the woozy head remains all the time is that anxiety too

p.s.  and yes, I know that pains in the chest are normally not an indicator of a stroke, usually pain in the chest points towards a heart problem; however with me I experienced, as I said, a minor stroke.  Just saying.  (& had pain in the chest).

I've been to my Dr more times then I can count on this and she won't take me seriously says anxiety but I'm not convinced its all anxiety. I'm looking for a new one at the present moment.

Good idea re finding a new Dr.  I would find a different doctor, explain all of these issues that are affecting you and insist on a battery of tests, blood tests, urine, maybe an mri, whatever is on offer, to find out what is going on with you.  I'm not a doctor and these are merely suggestions, ie. what I would do if I were in your shoes.

I would keep at it then regarding finding a new doctor and hopefully the new one will be more thorough and come up with an answer for you.  Strange you should say you are low in Vit. D, I was too and now take Vitamin D everyday, more in the winter, as I live on an island off the west coast of B.C. in Canada and there are not a lot of daylight hours in the winter, let all sun.  Again, good luck with it all Pamela. x

Thanks Terry I'm going too,do you think any of these symptoms could be due to low vitamin d I've no clue if that could be a possibility

Sorry, no clue Pamela.  Although since I've been taking Vit. D, now that you mention it, I haven't had a panic attack.  Placebo maybe?  Who knows? The COPD definitely contributed if not caused a lot of my attacks due to not being able to breathe.  Knowing that I have the rescue inhaler has defintely diminished the attacks.  Wish I could be of more help.  Hang in there, it will get better.  x
