Chest, Back & Right Shoulder Pain

Hi folks.
There's a long(er) version of this story but I don't want to bore you all.
8 weeks I've had an intense stabbing pain that starts in the upper back, spreads to the right shoulder and shoots through to the sternum. Painkillers don't do anything for the pain, neither does Rennie, Rapidol, Zantac or Gaviscon.
The last 3 weeks I've also had intermittent tight chest and shortness of breath to accompany it.
So far I've been "diagnosed" with acid (prescribed omeprazole) and a stomach ulcer (told not to eat spicy, creamy, alcohol, pastry or hot). Neither of these diagnoses were accompanied with anything more than an explanation of the singular pain symptom, a prod at the chest and a blood pressure check.
I've since had an ECG, blood tests and a chest x-ray - all came back "normal".
I'm waiting for an abdominal ultrasound.
The shortness of breath started during my last week of omeprazole (4 week course) and has continued since (2 weeks off it now).
The pain isn't generally as strong as it was (8/10 down to 5 or 6/10) but it still happens multiple times a day.
The last doctor I saw admitted they weren't sure what it could be as the symptoms don't fit any standard box, but mentioned chostocondritis.
It seems to come on randomly. Not always after food, not always same time of day, doesn't matter what food I've had etc.
I now have people telling me that they think the pain is in my head and that when I get a clear ultrasound I'll have no choice but to ignore it and it'll go away.
Has anyone ever had anything similar, can someone tell me I'm not going mad?

Well the beta blockers had no effect other than lowering my heart rate (which isn't surprising given that's what they're for).
The pain still comes and goes.
I mentioned HIDA (again) last time I saw the doc, and this one said she'll look into it. But in the mean time referred me to a psych well-being thing.
Spoke to them, went through a load of questions and long story short, they don't think I have issues with anxiety.
I'm back at the docs in a couple of weeks, so guess I find out then if she's bothered to research at all...

Ive had all of these symptoms and its starting to scare me..I was having stomach problems for a little bit which turned into bad pains in my ribs on the right side now it wraps around to my back and shoulder. Ive had blood tests ct scan all "normal" went back to my dr today and he sent me for chest xrays and more blood work..I'm scared there's something horrible they are not seeing. Im a smoker and go on drugs google 24/7 and have convinced myself I have lung cancer ..I have horrible health anxiety and just hate not knowing whats wrong with me but so scared to hear if its something bad

Hi Natasha. Unfortunately no, I still haven't been given a diagnosis.
My last trip to the doctor's about this I was told to "come back if there's any new symptoms". Since then I've twice had pain just about the right hip so bad that I couldn't sit, stand or walk. Ended up lay on a bed for a couple hours in tears cos painkillers (yet again) don't work.
Took that one to the doctor and I'm now waiting for a pelvic ultrasound to check for cysts on the ovaries.
I'm not getting the original pain so much now, though part of me wonders if that's cos I've adapted to it.

I feel the same way..for a little bit it was gone and now back full force..its my ribs and back on the right side ..my shoulder started to bother me and thats when everything else came back.I dont know if i got use to it or it did infact stop.I'm waiting for xrays and back for more blood tests tomorrow. It just seems like one thing after another. My anxiety is horrible and just getting worse as things keep happening. Im trying to blame my anxiety but how could that cause such painful things..its all getting depressing.
Hope you get some answers and feel better or at least some relief?
