For the past month I've been back and fourth to the doctors in hospital because of different symptoms.

I get either pain in my ribs or in the centre of my chest. I've got chest pain every single day on he left side. I constantly think there is something seriously wrong but I have had blood tests, ecg & a chest x ray. The doctors have told me this is anxiety but I am adiment that there is something else wrong. I am taking lanzosparole which I did think was working but the pain is every day.

Does anyone else get this or have any tips to help?

I can’t believe I found a place where others are experiencing the same things. I’ve suffered anxiety since I was 15, but last Friday I was at work and got the sharpest pain in my chest that has turned into chest sensations that travel all over my back, arms and both sides of my chest. It’s been almost a week and it hasn’t gone away. the only relief is sleeping and walking (even that can aggravate the sensations). I use a back massager that helps when I feel it in my back, and I do stretches when the tightness gets very intense which provides some relief. I went to the emergency room Saturday only to be told my ekg, chest X-ray and blood tests were “remarkably reassuring.” They told me it was anxiety and to follow up with my doctor. I’m now on Zoloft and Ativan for severe attacks but nothing gets rid of the discomfort. I’ve found a lot of help by talking about it and the remedies above. I took time off work to reduce my stress and have tried breathing techniques and meditation to get me through the worst.  What we are feeling is very real but I get through it by reminding myself that I will be okay! It’s easier said than done but I have hope for everyone suffering from anxiety. Knowing there are others out there helps me stay calm.

Chest pain is one of the most common symptoms that bring an individual to the emergency department. Seeking immediate care may be lifesaving, and considerable public education has been undertaken to get patients to seek medical care when chest pain strikes.
