Chest Pain That Won’t Go Away

I suffer from anxiety and often have random chest pain; which I usually get over and deal with no problem. However, today is different... after my yoga workout (around 2PM today) I had this chest pain come on. Thinking it was just my anxiety, I took one of my pills and carried on with my day. But then 7PM rolls around and the pain is back and it has been on and off every 20/30 minutes or so. I can’t sleep, because whenever I go to lay down it comes back. It feel like someone is pushing down really hard with their thumb between my breasts. I say thumb, because it’s not a large area that is hurting. Literally just the size of my thumb. I don’t know if this is my anxiety or if I should get my blood pressure and heart checked out. Could it be something more serious?

I've had all different kinds of chest pain, including exactly what you have described. About a month ago I had had chest pain daily for at least two weeks! The first time I got it it caused a panic attack before I knew what panic attacks were like and I thought I was dying. I went to an urgent care doctor twice, he didn't do any tests because he said it was anxiety. Sometime after the second visit is when I got the constant pain.
It stopped after I finally had the health insurance to see a new primary doctor who my family trusts a lot. After seeing him and getting bloodwork done, the pain stopped. I had bad palpitations two days ago that left me breathless for a moment and the pain is starting up again! I keep thinking that because he didn't do any cardiac tests, he missed something, but that seems to be a common feeling.
Anxiety is truly awful, but by the sounds of it, we are all okay physically and just need to learn how to manage the anxiety.

Let me know how that goes for you! I don't know if I could handle acupuncture but I'd love to know what kinds of things work for others. I'd love to try a massage myself and might look into seeing a therapist.
