Yes! When I am in pain from the fissure, coughing and sneezing both are painful. Also flipping over in bed and scooting off bed. All the muscles are connected. Let us know how the appointment goes and if you decide to do the surgery!

oh thats good to know thought it might of just been me and yes like you say getting of the bed or chair have to be so careful even passing wind .... excuse me lol sometimes hurts

i will def let u all know once ive spoken with him

Yes passing wind can also be painful! Holding it in seemed to hurt more though. It really in all encompassing! Really shows how important such a small piece of our body can ruin basically everything. Almost every activity it affects.

I understand you so much. Having read all the different stories I don't know how you guys cope for such a long time. I've had anal fissure for only 4 months and tried different cremes and suppositories but nothing works. I had anxiety before but now it's worse. I get anxious before every BM and I can't cope with the pain. My doctor said the next step would be the botox injection but I'm very nervous about it! I hope it will work and I wish you all the best in your different situations, hopefully we will all get through this!

      Hi Celine

it has got to be one of worst pains and deliberating thing ive gone through

like you say its endless pain with little or no relief from anything

its just a waiting game now for surgery which im extremly scared about i suffer with health aniexty as it is myself and i get so anxious just thinking about the op but its the last resort and i just want my life back and be pain free from this

      its bloody awful isnt it!

i had never heard of anal fissure until i got one and yet they seem to be very common!

fingers crossed for us all that we get healed and can continue to live our best lifes without a b*****d fissure! good luck x

Lou sorry I can't remember where you said you are? UK?

I am. I am also awaiting appointments with my surgeon to discuss next steps after field botox.

Still so confused of my options as previously he told me LIS doesnt exist in UK anymore?

I am at the end of my tether.

It's not 10/10 pain like it was back in October and then after my botox and then in January but it's still a 5 or a 7 out of 10 until the afternoon and it's life limiting. Can't exercise, walk far, sit down, sleep etc .

Lou did you have a skin tag also? As a result of fissure? Or anyone? I had mine removed with botox but that's the most painful bit now. It seems its the tiny bit of skin tag left that is so sore and swollen after bm and for hours. Sending love to you all xx it is vile

*sorry meant failed botox not field haha

I've had a skin tag for years and never had an issue but now it is very swollen because of the fissure right next to it and very painful. The specialist said he would remove it when I do botox to help it heal.. Hopefully it works.

I had also never heard of fissure before until I got one and I wish no one to have it, the worse pain I've ever had! I felt really lonely until I found this chat and saw all the stories, I feel a bit better knowing that it's so common and I'm not the only one going through this, it can be so difficult to talk about it with families, friends and even partner.. I really hope the surgery works for you! Wish you all the best!!

Hi Celine. No your not alone but its a isolating pain and thing to go through. Horrible. No body gets it and says to me why do I come on here but we all it in common and understand the vulgarness of it xxx

How old are you? How long have u had it? Are they putting you under for the botox?

Yes exactly! My family and friends say they understand but only one of my friend actually has this problem and knows what it's like. Until you go through it no one can get it! I'm only 28yo so surgery is not an option at the moment because of the fact that I'm young and if I want a child it affect the birth.. I've only had it for 4months but I feel like it's been on forever! I talked with a surgeon on the phone he wants to do the botox.. But can't have an actual appointment til this pandemic is done..

I've also been told that I should avoid surgery because I'm young (28 also) and plan to have children. I have had a bad one for 8 months now. I recently got married last year and I want this fixed before I get pregnant. I did botox already 3 months ago and it hasn't healed. The botox helped quality of life, but my fissure didn't heal. The specialist I saw said I should have it healed before I get pregnant because birth can make it worse, but at the same time, people are very hesitant to do it for a young woman who plans to have children. Do you know exactly what the issue is for having surgery as a young woman planning to have children? I don't really understand, but living with this fissure isn't an option for me and I definitely don't plan to give birth with an existing fissure.

botox is a waste of time no one on here says it works! good luck

I don't know exactly what's the issue with giving birth, the doctor didn't tell me.. I'm gonna try the botox and see what it does I guess
