I have light and noise sensitivity.  I control the light at home with window blinds and low level lighting.  Getting work to understand was difficult but I got there in the end.  I now have a corner with no lighting (only a lamp I control myself) and black out film on windows/screens.  I can now work 6 hours a day without feeling drained.  Also I have a light filter on my glasses.  They are all little changes but it all adds up and with a timetabled lifestyle and accepting the condition I now find that I can cope and still enjoy life.  Start making little changes and build it up.  Hope this helps.

Thanks yes I have done a few of them things I doubt I would do a 1 hours work ,I think accepting it is proving to be the difficult thing for so many people

Hi, yes it's normal. We have an amazing list of all the ways we can suffer. I am lucky that my firends and family understand because so many of my syptoms are visable. The ones they can't see they don't question because of the ones they do see. hugs xx

I can identify with everything you have written about your problems!  I also have every symptom you mention plus also severe lower back pain for which I'm on morphine tablets daily although they don't help much.

At the moment, I've just started with pain in my neck and shoulder and it hurts to move my head and left arm!

I'm sick and tired of it and wonder when all these problems will end.  It just gets you down.  Doc just keeps on trying, unsuccessfully, to deal with each problem individually and won't admit it could be CFS.  All the tests she's done have come back OK except for the thyroid, which is just a little over the limit for hyperthyroidism, although I feel dreadfully tired all the time and don't want to do anything which is opposite to the hyper!  She's suggested I see a specialist for this as she's at a loss.

I feel like giving up many a time.

At least, we're not on our own cry

No that's true we not on our own it's really hard to keep up with and it's still early days the support groups are great to chat to people who are in the same boat it's a shame they don't research this condition more in all honesty I have done better since stop taking medication from docs I don't think it's the way forward thanks for your reply smile

    Hi Russ,

Just curious, did you get cfs/me after a virus? Your acid reflux, sinuse and bowel problems link so much to my friends symptoms where as mine are different but similar? Its hard to accept all these really difficult symptoms. It does seem to be a common thread here of sensitivity, light, sounds etc but also may be worth keeping a food diary? I now have ibs and I know as a seperate issue, that my bladder is now irritated by certain fluids. You may find food that has been ok for years now triggers a reaction? Interested to know what you discover.

Hi Beverley yes my symptoms started was a what seemed like a sinus infection it was awful it was very intense I couldn't sleep due to pressure headaches it was like my body had changed I have never worked since about a year ago.about 2 years ago I had a bad respirtaory infection after that I had nasal breathing problems I new something wasn't right just kept getting infections feeling tired but carried on docs never clicked on I was persistent that something didn't feel right until the last infection that's was it bit better now but still struggling when I look back at the build up before these infections I was going through a lot of stress and would push myself with work and training I think my body and mind had been pushed to much but everyone's different I suppose but without doubt in have heard that it's common after infections all my bloods have been ok apart from b12 Its now ok definatley helped my symptoms once b12 raised worth getting them checked smile

I know what you mean about food and drink i try to eat clean now can't eat things that I could before I actually going to see a good holistic doc who was honest said he may be able to improve some of my symptoms worth a try I haven't met a gp yet who has any answers all I get is it's western medicine we just deal with pain useless

      Hi Russ,

Hope the holistic doc helps. How do they work? Cfs/me seems all about balance. Just working out how to get it! Also, I've read a couple of reports on feeling a bit better after getting B12.

Sometimes this condition can leave you feeling like you're on your own with It but there are so many of us with same/similar symptoms here, proves we're not. Btw, I don't take any meds unless I'm in huge amounts of pain as my way of doing things, I don't endorse it but, we must all find our own path in dealing with it. I take a multi-b vitamin (when I remember) and rest.

I am assuming the holistic doc will look at my symptoms then adjust my diet and herbal remedies to try and help in some way he's also been a gp. I think diet is important it's worth a try I have exhausted all blood tests one thing I can't control is the acid reflux really worried taking 60 mg esmaprazole it's not touching it to be honest at least we are not alone and people understand thanks smile

Its worth a try. My friend was also on meds for the reflux, its not a nice symptom and am guessing you had an endoscopy? Not a good proceedure at all! But, if it comes back all clear, a kind of relief?

I don't drink coffee, not sure If that makes a difference but then read recently its good for cfs/me smile

Yes had the endoscopy results not good scarring but now awaiting results of barium swallow don't enjoy food at all drink I'm in trouble with it but I have been told I just have to wait now I would love a coffee not had one In 4 months lolsmile

      Hi Russ,

What can they do re scaring? Is there anything can help? The barium meal thing may show something else as well? I think taste can be hugely affected with cfs/me and the acid reflux wont help to enjoy food. Hope it settles soon. Well done for giving up the coffee-that cant have been easy!

Hi  Russ;  No, I don't think it's CFS.....if you go into a Web site, there are 2 that I find very helpful, plus go through the syptom checker on this web (if you hanv't already done so).......CFS is, from what I've found, is really just that......really fatigued.....but there are different diagnosis for ME and Fibro, each with it's "Particular" causes and symptoms.....and treatments......go through the the google and ask the question "what are the symptoms of ME"?     what are the symptoms of CFS?   and what are the symptoms of Fibro?.....this will lead you to your answer/s   ???......Bron
