Chronic nausea without vomiting and then some... No I'm

Posted , 15 users are following.

Hi all! I have had chronic nausea for about 4 years. In the beginning, certain foods or drinks triggered the nausea because it wasn't all day everyday.. Now it's all day.. No matter what I eat or don't eat. I am bloated and have this indescribable discomfort in my upper abdomen just under my ribs. It's almost a burning sensation but does not hurt. It's just uncomfortable. One gastroenterologist told me I had acid reflux and ran no tests. My physician says it's a chemical imbalance and prescribed me medication that I have been on for 4 months now with no change. He also says it's anxiety.. I do have really bad anxiety because I have a phobia of throw up. It's gotten so bad that it's scared me out of having children.

God hasn't given you a spirit of Fear but of boldness and courage. Don't be afraid. You need to calm down and relax. It's your first step towards healing I believe. I suspect ulcer-h pilory or worms. You could test for them then treat if it is.

But most importantly please stop worrying. Great day.

Thank you for this. I know they are going to test me for H-pylori when I get the endoscopy. I never even thought about worms being the culprit!

Hi! I saw that you posted this a year ago, and I have been dealing with literally the exact thing! Nausea, anxiety, fear of throwing up, everything! It had been going on for a couple months now, and it’s gotten so bad that my appetite has gone way down. I lost about 30 lbs. I used to weigh 135-140 and now I weight 110! I haven’t thrown up at all, but had major nausea and bloating issues. I was admitted in the hospital last month and like you all the test came back normal. They think it’s a mental block. So I got back and picked myself up a little and got back to eating a little bit more and didn’t have so much nausea, but then one day I had super super bad nausea, and after that it messed me up and I’ve been losing my appetite again! Like I’ll be hungry and get a few bites in then be full or nauseous or won’t wanna eat anymore. Like it feels like a lot of pressure in my throat like that sensation when your gonna throw up. So I hate that! It’s very hard when the doctors can’t help and are just saying “eat, or we’ll have to put you on a feeding tube” (which is not an option for me!!) I just don’t know why it’s so hard for me to eat and why I always feel so nauseous and bloated! It really has held me back in everything. I know that God will get me through it and is using this for something, I just want it to be over! Trying to overcome it. So I guess what I want to know is how are you now? What was it (if you ever found out) and how did you get through it? ( if you even did) thank you😪

what you're describing is exactly my story, I've been going around all these pages and they're from years ago and here you are, 13 days ago...I also don't know what's wrong with me and I've lost so much weight and I'm so afraid to eat and I only eat when I'm at home and I have no energy whatsoever. Would you be willing to contact me? I just really need someone who feels the same way because no one gets me.

I think it is gastritis. I would suggest take a 40 mg ppi with a 300 mg h 2 blocker one hour prior to ur breakfast in the morning.

I've been stuggling with chronic nausea for 5 years since 2013 too.

When it first started I stayed home from school for many weeks because it was all the time, then it finally got better but was still intermittent.

I still get these period in time where I go a week, less or more feeling really nauseous. I've never thrown up, only felt like it and I too have a fear of throwing up.

My doctors have no idea, we are try a low dose of birth control to see if it's my hormones but it hasn't helped so far but it seems to get worse a few weeks or more before my period. The did an ultra sound and X-ray'd my stomach to see if my digestion was slow

But, there are also certain food that trigger the nausea, like salmon and milkshakes. I though lactose intolerance but I can eat ice cream.

I've stopped going to find out what it is because I never get answers and I'm tired of it. It's gotten worse this month and it's making mad.

I'm pretty sure my school is getting tired of my coming in late everyday saying I'm sick. It happens randomly at anytime of the day

You must take fluid and light diet in your food. Avoid food with strong flavors. Ginger and peppermint tea can help you to give relief.

    Hi Chelsea!

I realize you posted 2 years ago, but I wanted to jump in on the conversation. I hope you're doing better! I'm currently experiencing a similar condition as you and others who've commented; persistent random nausea, lump in the throat, pain area right above the stomach, fatigue, and strangely no vomit this whole time! I went through a period of about 5 months of this in Fall 2017, and it has suddenly reoccurred this Summer 2018, after several months of peace. I went through my family doctor, an ER room, and a GI specialist during my first round of sickness. They only came to the conclusion of Gastrisis, but I never felt that answered my problem, as they only told me to keep doing what I was doing, which was endure and take anti-acids. Currently on a PPI medication, and I believed it worked for about two weeks. My nausea had lowered to nothing, and I was able to eat without fear. But now it's starting to surface again and I'm not sure if my PPI is working anymore, is causing me to feel sick, or I'm just sick with something else.

Anyway, I'm continuing the medication as planned.

I've done a lot of digging, wanting to throw some ideas of why we could be experiencing this? Has anyone looked into Pancreatitis? Heck, I've even thought maybe my Wisdom teeth had anything to do with this? Is my tongue swollen? Is it all psychological? For me personally it could very well just be GERD, which my family doctor seems confident that it is. Still has me worried why my medication isn't working so well recently.

Any tips on minimizing the nausea is appreciated.

These forums make me wonder if people get better and just forget about writing about it? ? ? I've read so many nausea forums from years back that just stop with no updates, hmmmm

    Hi,

This is similar to what I started feeling about 2 months ago.

I have this upper abdominal discomfort that comes and goes. It seems to get worse at night though. It gives me serious anxiety sometimes.

I asked my GP about it but he just passed it as acid reflux. It does cause me heartburn though and makes me feel like throwing up but when I try to, it doesn't work. It doesn't exactly feel like acid reflux to me.

I've noticed that the more stressed I am, the worse it gets.

In my case, I get it once which continues for a few days after that and then it disappears and after a few days/weeks, it's back. It's frustrating.

I got blood tests done but they came out normal except for my GP mentioning that I have slightly low immunity and he prescribed me some medicines for that.

The feeling under my ribs is really weird though, it's uncomfortable but doesn't cause any pain.

Also, it feels a bit better when I stand but worsens when I sit down. Does this happen with you?

Hoping it gets better for us!!
