Steve,  At long last the appointment has come through to see the specialist Physio that deals with this on Monday so here's hoping. Does it help with continuing dribbles ?.

Pelvic floor pt is not working. I don;t know what I am going to do. Can anyone else tell me their chronic prostatitis stories? Don't feel right down in the perenial area. Do others have the same problem? Feel so all alone.   Steve

Went to Physio yesterday and very worthwhile. She scanned me while trying to do pelvic floor exercises and could not get any sign of movement. Got to try these exercises for the next 8 days and report back. She has got me weighing my pads to see how much liquid is dribbling out and explained the pads are so good nowadays the moisture disappears in them. Am also experimenting with some new pads and pants to hold them in place as they sometimes go walkies when I am out walking in my normal briefs.

      Hi hawkeye,

Yes, I still have the prostatitiis, but the symptoms are not as bad as they used to be. Of course, I had a turp because my symptoms bothered me so very much. You have to try to have a positive attitude as much as you can. A belief in God also helps.Try to work your way through it and don't give up. You have to be strong.

So I hear a lot of stories of it not lasting forever and it comes and goes etc. Yet everyone on here has it 100 % of the time snd never found a cure etc. Makes no sense. Glad your doing better why did you choose turp and not embolization etc? Just wondering. Also I thought you didn't have an enlarged prostate...mine is 26 cc I believe they say normal so they wont do surgery did you have bph as well

      Hi hawkeye,

I don't think embolization was around when the Turp was done. Is that PAE? Mine wasn't too enlarged, but I couldn't pee.

Steve, I know we have spoken about this before, and I am so glad things have improved for you. Unfortunately I still have E/D and Incontinence and they reckon I need more of my Prostate taken away as I am struggling to pass water most of the time. Going for tests tomorrow which I expect will be flow tests and measuring retained water, plus to try self catheterisation again as last time on two occasions we could not get the catheter to go in all the way. Just don't know what to say to them as they also say I need another Biopsy but the last one nearly killed me when I got Sepsis after, and as I still have urine infections does that mean I am high risk again.  Any thoughts or suggestions anyone as this Prostatitis never goes away from me ?.

I still have the prostatitis, Dave, but it isn't quite as bad as it used to be. I have been on Doxycycline for awhile now and it seems to help a little bit. I still do hope and pray quite a bit, though. Be very careful of the drs. though, Dave. The catherittization may be making you sore, also. I don't think you are high risk either, my friend. Have you tryed the Doxycycline? It seems to help me a little bit.and if you don't like your Dr. Get another one. Always stay positive my friend. I wouldn't let them keep fiddling around with you. If you find at least one professional who you think is helping you---stay with him. Please keep me posted ,Dave.  I care

Any othet options available to treat chronic bacterial prostatis if it reoccurs after stopping antibiotics??

When attending hospital today for my daily Intravenous Antibiotics ( 28 Days ) the nurse told me anyone with Prostatitis must not retain water for a period under any circumstances as this will retain / increase  infection.  As my prostate is growing back since TURP it will have to be resectioned as is starting to hold water back, and I am now self cathing at night as I can get the new thin flexible catheters in. Also dreading Circumcision as I have infection trapped below my foreskin which will not move.  I believe in bad cases of infection on the long term they suggest a daily maintenance dose of A/B's
