    Hi Sam,

I'm a relative newbie too with Citalopram so i won't offer anything definitive in response.

    I've been on it 12 weeks approx, 10mg for 4 weeks & then 20mg.

From what I've read on this forum for most people it will take a minimum of 4-6 weeks to feel any benefit and for many it'll take a couple of months. I'm definitely better than i was in August but the changes are slight and almost imperceptible as they occur. It's only as i look back i realise various anxiety sensations and side effects are improved.

And of course any recovery is horribly non-linear. Perceived improvements in various things that you hate about your anxiety suddenly reverse or collapse altogether.....before levelling off after days or more of feeling it's all failing again. But again, when i look back 12 weeks pretty much everything has improved a little bit.

I'd suggest reading through this forum especially some of the older topics with lots of replies. e.g this one has lots of informative responses - https://patient.info/forums/discuss/citalopram-20mg-for-8-weeks-then-30mg-for-2-weeks-feel-much-worse--563440

    good luck
