I had my left hip replaced 7 weeks ago and everything has been fine.I am having pain in my right hip and think this will need doing soon.I don't know if it's my imagination but a couple of times in the last couple od days I am sure I have heard my new hip click, but don't know if it's mys imagination and the click has come from my right hip.Has anyone else experienced this. I am due to see the consultant on Friday and hoping everything is ok.

    Hi Jill

When I was out of surgery, the surgeon came to check on me and chose this time [/b]to tell me that 15% of ceramic THR develop a squeek or click.

At my 6 week check, he asked if either of these sounds had materialised. So far, nothing....but I do keep looking over my shoulder - so to speak.

Ha ha ha - I already have clicking ankles due to torn ligaments (from basketball in my youth)...I will sound like a cyborg!

In fact, that should be my new nickname lol

      Hi graham,

just checking in in quickly about the hiking poles that your physio suggested for you.

was that to establish "core walking" as you began to rehabilitate? Ensure you were engaging all the correct muscle, groups etc?

do you start work on Monday?

      good luck.

      yep, working today ......off soon.

walking poles were to reduce the pressure on my shoulder from RSI I was getting.  the different way you hold and use them helped me alot, the way I used them more for balance than support (although they will support you if needed), promoted better use of walking muscles.
