You sound like you're doing really well. Ive put the strange little pains down to tendons & muscles healing which can only be a good thing 😊. Do you get the pains when you've done too much do you think? We seem to be at a stage where we're feeling much better and doing much more, I stood and groomed my toy poodle the other day then went for physio and she said oh your feet are a bit swollen lol
Onwards and upwards 😊

does this now always happen after you sat ? is it when you stand up or walk or both? is the chair okay ? I never sat in an uncomfortable high chair, but just regular dining room chair with big cushion on it ...
when is your appointment next week -
I know you are a responsible girl ....
big warm hug

How weird that the pain is so intense and then it goes so quick. You could be right about it being a tendon thing. I know exactly what you mean about high chair and no bath!! I was absolutely dreading sleeping on my back but weirdly enough I'm sleeping 7 hours a night straight through and have done since coming home from hospital, so weird ! I'm grateful though, so many people struggle with no sleeping at night. Have you got your 6 week check next week?

I'm a 5 weeks and can do it but I do feel a lot more strain on the muscle above the knee in front of my leg so I tend to try not to do it. Also, when I do do it, I have a tendency to compensate by pushing my knee to the inside which is bad so I really have to be conscious to keep my posture correct.
I think this is a very good thing to do as an exercise when you are really paying attention to your body and making sure you are doing right.

Yes you're absolutely right, I tried it again after I had a few replies and went at it with a bit more confidence but it included doing a bit of a heave to push up the step. I think I'll leave off doing it like that for a few days and keep concentrating on the exercises. It seems like 5 weeks is the charm so hopefully next week it will be a bit easier.
It sounds like you're doing really well, there's quite a few of us on here at roughly the same time scale, it's good to compare notes ☺️

I am at 7 weeks post op. I can walk up and down the stairs unaided but I stay on the safer side and use a railing. I have 6 steps to get into my house and 15 to my 2nd floor apartment. I couldn't believe that I walked up them all when I came home on day 3 post op. I had a person in front of me and one behind me though! If it hurts or you feel unsteady I suggest using support. No reason to take a chance that might cause problems after all that you have been through already!!

You did amazing to get up all those steps at 3 days!! I can't even imagine how much you worried about having to do that !!! What a relief it must of been and then you must of thought "all that worrying for nothing". I think we all do an awful lot of worrying before this operation for one thing or another. How am I going to manage this or how am I going to do that but in the end it just all seems to work out. My main worry was feeling vulnerable but I haven't felt vulnerable once.
Thank you for your advice on the stairs, I'll definitely be taking it steady ☺️

You will find that one day, you just do it as if by accident - it just comes naturally.
Four weeks is very early days - see my website blogs for what I was able to do - but as with everything to do with THR recovery, don't expect the same recovery as anyone else - it just doesn't happen that way. You are unique, and your recovery will be unique too.
Best wishes

That was exceptional being able to do that after 2 weeks!
I've read your website blogs on your thr and your revision, what a nightmare that must of been! An absolute nightmare! You have done an amazing job on your website.
I'll keep trying the stairs but I'm not going to push it, I'm sure it will come. I got my date yesterday for my 2nd one to be done so I'm on the countdown again.

I've come to the conclusion that it will happen, I'm not going to push it. As long as my op leg is strong enough to carry my next one being done all will be good. I think by 28th June it will be.
You also did amazing to walk up stairs unaided by 2 weeks!!
Thanks Bini ☺️

I know you've been through it 3 times! Hopefully this will be an end of it for you for many happy pain free years! It's a bit of a beastly op to recover from so having to do it 3 times is unbelievable ! I'm thinking twice is enough thank you very much. It sounds like you're definitely getting there now though ☺️
