Cold Flashes and Indigestion

Does anyone experience cold flashes as well as hot flashes? I don't get hot flashes too often but lately get these cold flashes and it goes right through me. Also I will get indigestion out of nowhere. Will have to burp for a little bit to relieve the pressure and bloating. Saw my OBGYN and I'm 51 so it's normal. Have skipped a few periods but still getting them. Can't wait till I don't have to deal with that anymore. Appetite is through the roof too, been putting on weight and not happy about it. Anyway else suffer weight gain from peri? My doc says its normal....ugh!

Hi Nancy0925... yes, I've gotten cold flashes in the past. I use to get them when I was PMS-ing too. It's like an ice chill in your bones and you can't get rid of it.

Yes I started started getting these after real hot flushes. Indigestion had been a problem at the onset of perimenopause. Dr recommended Prilosac. You can get at costco or any pharmacy. It definitely works and no more heartburn or indigestion. I am 49. Last week or so I have been going dizzy a lot. Just another ailment  to add the long list of perimenopause. Lol!!!!

Jane, it's not heartburn that I get and the Prilosec does't really address the burping. It passes after about 15 minutes....Yes, love all these new symptoms that come up.

Oh Nancy not sure what to suggest. It's all a mystery to me!!!

Hi Nancy0925, yes I used to get cold flushes, early in peri started with hot and not too bad, this year they changed to cold flushes for a few months and now back to hot and pretty severe.  Cant help you with anything for the indigestion as I havent found anything that I can take that helps me...

      hi ladies..

well it must be the heat in spain then that increases my flushes... seems its a cool you down method.... ' dont feel like it to me'

*** rapid heart beat and chills are mentioned ladies for those having those..

What Is a Hot Flash?   my answer  = ( a pain in the ar*e)

A hot flash, sometimes called a hot flush, is a quick feeling of heat and sometimes a red, flushed face and sweating. The exact cause of hot flashes is not known, but may be related to changes in circulation.

Hot flashes happen when the blood vessels near the skin's surface dilate to cool. A woman may also sweat to cool down her body. And some women have a rapid heart rate or chills.

Hot flashes with sweating can also happen at night. These are called night sweats and may make it harder to sleep.

A hot flush is a hot flash plus redness in the face and neck.

How Long Will I Have Hot Flashes? my answer = too dam long...

Hot flashes vary among women going through menopause. Some women have hot flashes for a very short time during menopause. Other women may have hot flashes for life. Generally, hot flashes are less severe as time passes. my answer =  ( say what .... i am almost meno reached, mine are worse)

      Can I Prevent Hot Flashes?

You probably can't avoid hot flashes during menopause, but there are things that may bring them on more often or cause them to be more severe.

oh joy.... i am off now.. to cool down the best spanish way...

      talk later ladies Jay xx

Hey there!  I don't get hot flashes I get cold spells.  I start shivering and need a blanket on the couch.  The air conditioning is too cold for me.  It's great for these hot weather months though! haha. I sneeze sometimes and have very very dry eyes.  This crap will be over soon! smile. smile
