I had colonoscopy on Tuesday, removed 6 polyps, did a scrape of colon to be sent for biopsy. Diagnosed with severe Diverticulosis (3 spots in sigmoid) and a spasmodic colon. I’m still having some discomfort with bloating and gas. Took some Bentyl today. Any suggestions or advice on how to get some relief. 🙏

Hi i had the same as you last nov 2017, with the same results, waited a month for results to come back, polyps ok, all clear, but the rest was same diagnosed, not funny, i would never have colonoscopy again, so painful, it took at least months before i felt well,this is really a awful disease, have lost over 3stone because i was scared about eating, till i found this forum, which has helped, thankfully i haven't had a flare up but must,nt speak to soon but im very careful with what i eat, i keep a food dairy, and im being to learn what i can have, i take buscopan for cramps and wind get lots of that, plenty of water and a probitic tablet, every day it,s trail and error,not two people are the same, i suffer with anxiety and depression and stress which doe,st help this, ive not had a lot of help with my gp or the hospital dr, also i begged to see a dietician waited 6months, no help at all,just a booklet from internet, this is something we have to live with onne day there might be a cure,look after yourself take care

My Dr is clueless, but good at doing tests I ask for and refers me to dietitian, GI, PT. And I go to a Mental Health program to help with my Anxiety/ panic attacks. This disease is awful and trying real hard to not let it take over my life anymore. Just gotta eat healthy. My GI said my discomfort should ease up soon. What probiotics do you take? They put me on Metamucil, calcium, D, B12, magnesium. Drink teas. But never said probiotics. I’ll look into Buscopan is it prescription or Otc? Well best wishes and prayers you get better and no flare ups🤗🙏

What kind of pain or discomfort did you have after colonoscopy? I have bloating, gas, spasms and now tenderness, burning sensation around bellybutton and left side and groin area. Along with the left side hip , back, buttocks and leg pain. Bentyl helps a little and I addded gas x in hopes for some relief, with teas. No bleeding or fever. Just want this to be over. 😟

Buscopan is it prescription or otc? How are you feeling sweetie ? I’m a little better today, Going to get out of house , and do some yard work. All my stool labs came back normal so no Candida or other bugs. Next week have my SIBO test. Just can’t get over the bad back, buttocks,and leg pain. And still have spasms. Get nervous tummy when go poo. Ugh 😑 Well hope all is better for you. 🤗🙏

No not feeling better, how are you feeling? I’m bloated, get gas pressure, and spasms. Tenderness still in bellybutton and now groin area. Going to call GI today. Hope your doing better. 🙏

Unfortunately we are all different. I find that Buscopan does nothing for me, but I also try to eat everything I dis before I was diagnosed - I don't want this horrible disease dictating my life. There are some things I can only have in real moderation, like Mac n cheese or roasted cheese. If I have a cheese sandwich it doesn't seem to affect me the same way.
I was only diagnosed 2 months ago and I'm still struggling with it.

Thank you for the advice. I cannot do dairy or eggs, cheese any more. I was a fast food , junk food, soda coffe, popcorn candy, on the go lady. Now cince diagnosed in Feb 2018, I do not eat anything, lost 40 lbs. plus developed anxiety depression and panic attacks. So this disease has knocked me on my ass! Just now trying to learn to eat and find my triggers. This forum has helped me a lot great advice and suggestions. Pray for no flare ups for all of us dealing with this disease 🙏

Thank you Madeline, no pain just discomfort and spasms, bloating and gas. My GI says it should go away in couple days. Started the Bentyl hope it works. 🤗

Bentyl is excellent. I rely on it for spasms .
I didn’t want to alarm you but just two days ago a friend had a colonoscopy, went home started to feel discomfort was readmtted to hospital, they knicked his colon during procedure.
Feel better but be cautious. 😘
