Hi Folks! Just a quick history of mine: i have been suffering from persistent abdominal pain (burning type of pain) for the past two to three years and since then i have had frequent bowel moments (usually take Imodium once or twice a week to hold my BMs).I have been to numerous GI specialists and almost all of them diagnosed me with IBS-D . I have undergone numerous tests in the past four to 5 months i.e Stool Occult blood( Normal) Celiac disease test (Normal), H.pylori test (Normal),stool culture MacConkey agar ( Normal), CT scan abdomen and Pelvis with contrast (Normal) , Thyroid Profile test (Normal) ,FreeT4(Normal) and numerous other tests which came back normal.. I recently had a colonoscopy.. The GI doctor found nothing while doing the procedure but my biopsy report came back as " MILD CHRONIC INFLAMMATION OF THE TERMINAL ILEUM". I will see my G.I doctor after a week .What does my biopsy result mean? Is it conclusive of IBD? please give me your opinion. And secondly i am just fed of this persistent pain in my abdomen and loose stools (been on numerous antibiotics as well and some of them usually did make my condition even worst). Thanks

maybe try some relaxation exercises , give it a go. Our mental worry does affect our physical pain.
the non absorbed meds will work locally to treat your inflammation.
ive had a couple of courses of antibiotics and shots of antispasmodics, and they did help.
hope you feel better soon.

They cost about £3. and help to mend your insides especially when you have a delicate digestive system. Good luck

the calc test is another diagnostic tool used in crohns.
your levels indicate that your not passing the cells associated with active inflammation currently.
i believe that there is a small margin of error, however, all your tests indicate normal, except mild inflammation on biopsy.
if you research terminal ilieitus, there are many many causes of inflammation, and Crohn's disease is but one.
do you or have you taken brufen or NSAIDs?
For now, I'd try to accept what the doc has told you.
im sure you will continue to be monitored?
crohns medications aren't a miracle cure either as many others on here will tell you.
im not a doctor, but as I've been told, thing usually show in stool and blood, and damage on cts and mris.
i have had symptoms for 26 years, however, they came and went with periods of well being. I'd really rather NOT know, and awaiting a resection.
having a name for it, hasn't helped me deal with it.
i sense your anxiety in what you write, and I feel this is playing a part too.
i may be wrong.

i had a resection on the 2nd Dcember and felt s much better. The dreaded rubbish feeling has gone. I have a few setbacks since then but I hope once I get rid of this cold I will be back on course. I have had to have antibiotics which I resisted for the first fortnight but wasn't getting any better. My calpractin level is 505 ug. I don't know how that figures because at last my Crp is normal. this is the first time for 5 plus years.
