I've been taking 60mg duloxetine for depression for several years. I had a really bad bout for about 2 months before Christmas Gp increased duloxetine to 90mg & also prescribed 15mg mirtazapine. I am feeling much better now & want to try coming off the mirtazapine but ive been googling & am dreading it. Has anyone any experience of coming off it? thanks in advance

I made the mistake of reading too much about it too and have scared myself silly! You shouldn't have too many difficulties after 6 weeks. I was on mirtazapine for a similar time a few years ago and decided it wasn't for me. At that time I was only taking a very small dose but came off without any problems. I've since gone back on it and am having problems getting off after just under a year, but you have been on it for a much shorter time.
Try not to worry. I always think the people with good experiences perhaps don't always post where as those who do struggle will post to ask for help.
With the support of your doctor, maybe look at dropping your dose every couple of weeks. There is a post here from a lady who had success without too many issues:

Good luck. I hope you come back and post how you have got on.

Hi Elaine hows it going? im currently withdrawing and its been difficult so far. im about 5 weeks off it and experiencing alot of burning and tingling symptoms that start in my stomach and go down my legs and feet. Also i developed tinnitus after a week into my withdrawals.. I dont hear it during the day its mainly at night time just hope it improves. i stopped cold turkey from 7.5mg so my advice would be to taper off even slowler than that. As you were on it for 6 weeks you may not get many problems. Keep me updated
