Hi Scott. I get fluttery feelings in my chest and throat too. It's usually worse in bed, but I also get them during the day .I had to wear a heart monitor for twenty four hours a long time ago and it didn't show anything.
It would be best to get them checked out. Perhaps you could try to get your endo appointment brought forward.

I've been put on beta blockers but was told I need to wait to see a specialist before any other medication could be prescribed. I have enough energy to still be able to do my job but that's it, my free time and days off I can't find energy to do much of anything. I was considering reducing my work commitments until hopefully things improve. Anyone have any helpful advice for dealing with things until I see my specialist.

Hi Stefania I hope your feeling better today , did you go to the doctors? Marigold might be able to help you with the block and replace bit as I've never been on that . I know what you mean about the anxiety , it just makes things worse.
Hi Amanda
I hope the betablockers are helping , I don't understand why your doctor hasn't started you on carbimazole or something for the thyroid, I was started on them straight away .
Maybe it might help if your doctor put you on sick from work for a bit till your feeling better, I didn't work for some months when I was first ill but I work for myself so it was easy for me to take the time off.
Did they give you any idea how long it will be till you see a specialist ? Do you know what your thyroid levels were .
How's everyone else marigold ,kat,Sue,bess ?
Take care Deb xx

Hi Stefania. What dose of Carbimazole are you on?You may be on too much thyroxine if you're feeling anxious. Did you manage to see your GP?I hope you feel better soon.
Hi Amanda. Welcome to the forum.I had panic attacks too, and was told they were due to stress when I'm sure it was my thyroid playing up. My GP just started me on betablockers and I had to wait until I saw the endo before I went on Carbimazole. Fortunately I didn't
have to wait long. If you have a long wait go back to your GP and ask if he can hurry the
appointment up.
I know it's awful feeling tired all the time, but try and rest as much as you can. You'll start to feel better once you get some treatment. Take care.
Thinking of everyone.Bess, Kat, Sue if you're reading this let us know that you're ok.

How long does it take usually to get to some sort of normality after the endo gets involved?

I'm sorry to hear you're having work problems when you already have enough to cope with.
You'll often find that you don't get a lot of sympathy when you have a thyroid condition as
you usually look fine.
Once you see the endo and he starts you on carbimazole you'll start to feel a lot better.
I was told that it took about six weeks, but I felt loads better in a couple of weeks.
Did they tell you what you're thyroid levels are?

Hi Barry. Good to hear from you. How are you doing? I'm fine except for migraine auras.
They come in clusters. I'm fine for a few weeks and then they start again.
We were hoping to move house, we were about to exchange when our buyers started messing us about so we've taken our house off the market, and we'll start again in the Spring.
I'm pleased her in doors is keeping you busy.
Hope you have a happy Christmas, and please keep in touch.

Hi Sue. Lovely to hear from you, we were wondering what had happened. You sound full of busy. I don't think I could work in a fish and chip shop, I'd eat all the chips.
That sounded like a smelly holiday, you should have taken a clothes peg. I don't know how anyone can be like that, I can't stand being dirty. Did they have a crane to hoist her out of the bath?
Our grandchildren are fine and looking forward to Christmas. Our gdaughter told her daddy he'd better be good as Santa's watching. How's your grandson?
I hope you manage to see your gp, your t4 is low.Let us know how you get on, and please keep in touch.
We haven't heard from Bess for a long time. I hope she's ok.
Thinking of everyone.

I've not had my bloods done now for 6 months and my tsh readings were 3.9 then.
I get worried when I feel odd because I start to think it's coming back.
I'm on 50 mg of thyroxine now and also still take propanolol ( which do help).
Hope everyone else is ok and a happy welcome to the new people..

What I will say - rightly or wrongly - is that there is a dose of thyroxine that is "right for me", irrespective of blood counts, TSH levels, doc's opinions, etc, etc! Some of us will be on quite a low dose, others higher. I 'should be' on around 75mg, but my bod and I know that nearer 90 is about what I NEED to feel like a human being and maintain a sensible weight!!!
Does anyone else feel like this? I argued this with a locum doc recently, and he let me gradually increase over a period of time until 90mg seems to be great! I wouldn't recommend doing this solo, but do please challenge your professionals if you're not feeling well or, as my Mum puts it - firing on all cylinders!

Moving house won't have helped your anxiety. I still have anxious spells, and I tend to go over conversations, especially when I'm in bed. I'm not as jumpy as I was though.
I had my bloods checked in July. My tsh was 3.75 and my t4 18. That's about right for me.
Getting my blood checked does me no good at all. There's such a performance to get the results. It's like the Secret Service. I tend to think that if my weight is steady then my bloods are ok.I'm on 50 mcgs of thyroxine too.
I stopped the propranolol some time ago. When I started with the migraine auras my GP suggested I went on preventative treatment. However, they stopped, but now they've come back so I'm deciding what to do. One of the drugs he suggested was propranolol, so I'll ask to go on that as I was fine when I took it before. One of the other things you can have is Botox.I don't fancy that, but I wouldn't mind being airbrushed.
I hope your anxiety settles down.
