Mixed Emotions and thoughts on Possible Endometriosis.

I need opinions of those who have endometriosis. I have mixed emotions and thoughts on this issue. I get really bloated 2 weeks prior to my period where I look like I am 8 months pregnant. My period is not heavy and I might only cramp on the 1st or 2nd day. My last couple of periods I have stopped bleeding on my 3rd day and started back up on my 4th day and then it stops again. After my periods for a couple of years now, I get a dull constant pain my lower abdomen and back for about 2 weeks. I am only 31 years old. I don't have any children. There are times during ovulation that I cripple over because I get a sharp pain in my lower abdomen. I've gone to my Gynecologist, the ultrasound is normal with a small cyst that appears to be one that comes with my cycle. I become constipated about a week prior to my cycle. I spoke to my Gynecologist about possibly having endometriosis, she stated with all of my symptoms and a couple of years of painful periods that she is most certain I do have endometriosis. I have tried taking 800 mg of Ibuprofen and that doesn't relieve the pain. I can bear the pain, but it gets really annoying. When I was younger, from time to time I experienced pain during intercourse, but I rarely do now. I have been wanting children and my husband had mentioned the same. She said if I get pregnant it will help with the endometriosis. At this point, I am unsure of what to do. I hear horror stories of how the endometriosis attaches to your organs and how it can affect your organs. My husband has mixed emotions about having a baby. We have been married for 11 1/2 years, so I am not sure he will ever want a child or is leading me on. I am tempted to reach out to my doctor and have the laparoscopy performed so I know for sure if I have endometriosis, but then again I really just want to ignore the pain and the fact that my Gynecologist said she is certain that I have endometriosis without doing a laparoscopy or surgery to know for sure. And I'm scared if I do have it, how severe it is and will it prevent me from having children. I was already told my Uterus is Tilted (from what everyone says that doesn't really matter with affecting the ability to conceive).

Help... What would you do?

I'm so sorry to hear Casey but at this moment I am encouraging you to exercise faith and hope for your highest good. My recovery from the first surgery wasn't so bad. I did need help taking a bath, getting out of bed, when I laughed or coughed it hurt too but not any out of this world pain. I'd say 4 days the most and I was driving and moving around pretty okay and almost back to normal but everyone is different.

All my bloods came back normal

Ultrasound, MRI all came back normal for years. I was going crazy 🤪 with the pain every day. No one believe me

Till I changed Gp (great Gp) and seen endometriosis specialist. I have a good team now with support.

    Your taking the right steps

So... everything came back normal for you too on the ultrasound and MRI? Then you had the laparoscopic and they found stage 4 endometriosis and Adenomyosis? Did they have to do a hysterectomy? What were your symptoms? Everywhere I read it says heavy periods. I don't have heavy periods, but my last few periods I bleed light and then I stop one day and bleed one day and then stop. Then that is usually when my dull pain sets in my lower abdomen and back down my leg. I called my doctors office Monday and told them I wanted to go ahead and schedule the laparoscopic surgery since a lady in my office told me her daughter had it and it messed up her colon and she had to have part of it removed and a partial hysterectomy. I don't want to take any chances. The scheduler called me and said she doesn't have anything until March 25th so I will have to wait. She is verifying my insurance and then will get back with me. On top of my anxiety and depression I already have.. I am worried. Did I mention they told me I had low testosterone levels?

I have light period too but I got endometriosis and Adenomyosis

So it not always heavy periods.

I can't have a hysterectomy as I have osteoporosis and say am too young.

Yep ultrasound, internal exams, MRI blood tests all normal.

Un till Igot seen by endometriosis specialist.

First endo Dr felt disposit on top of vangia (no one ever found it, till then because they wasn't looking for it)

Had another MRI, second end speaclist said Adenomyosis from MRI. But wouldn't put it in writing till laparoscopy

    Hi Casey

Having a long term health condition can take a toll on your mental health so it's important you look after yourself. Don't over think conditions that you think you might have. Let the professionals deal with that. The more you worry the more pain and stress it will cause. When your stressed your muscles tense and this can have an impact on your pain. Take long hot Epson salt baths to help with pain. Once you've been investigated you can think about pregnancy... If that's something you want to do. Having children isn't for everyone. Stay positive.
