Considering the Rezum Prostate Procedure

I'm 80 yrs old but in good physical health except for BPH and all that goes with it.
I had the Urolyft procedure on Dec 7, 2018. Had no bad side effects, blood in urine for about a week, then felt better, stronger urine stream and after 3 weeks or so had to get up at night to pee only once or twice max. However, after about 4 months all the night time peeing started
again. I was told retrograde ejaculation was to be in the past. Not so!! (Iv'e had that for about 6months prior to Urolyft) still have it. Told I could get off Tamsulosin. Which I stopped using.
It's now March 4, 2019 and all my symptoms returned after 4 months, including Prostititis 3 times. Urolyft worked for about 4 months, no more!
Presently, have very weak stream, up 3 times/night, retrograde ejaculation, very difficult peeing
stop and go dribbling, taking Tamsulosin twice a day, constant pressure in the perineum.
Urologist says, perhaps the third (median Lobe) has enlarged or prostate has grown around the staples.
I do not recommend the Urolft. It did nothing to improve my condition.
SO I am condidering Rezume, however not so sure after reading some of your comments.
If anyone has new or additional comments to make . I would appreciate hearing from you.
Thank you,

I had the Rezum procedure on April 15th, 2019. My experience is not typical, according to the doctor.
First of all, about the procedure itself. They give you a couple of pills to help relax you you and help with the pain. What a joke. The pain was so intense, that I almost passed out. I had to get a prescription for major pain. They wouldn't even give me anything there. I had to get it filled myself.
After a few days, like they instructed, I took the catheter out. I was bleeding some when I went. This part is supposedly normal. After about 18 days, I started bleeding worse. Then on day 20, I had to go to the emergency room and have a catheter put back in because I couldn't pee. This happened 2 more times each about a week apart. Finally after 6 1/2 weeks, the bleeding stopped. During this time period, sometimes I would have to go every 15 to 30 minutes, especially in the morning. As of today, May 28, I'm finally seeing a little improvement.
The doctor just tells me that all this with me is atypical. He still insists that I was a good candidate. I can't recommend or not recommend this procedure to anyone. It was only approved by FDA about 5 years ago. Nobody knows the long term effectiveness of it.
Good luck if you decide to have it done.

I am 52. I just had Rezum about 13 hours ago.
The procedure was very short. I had 3 injections. It really hurts for about 10 second each. I wonder whether my numbness worked.
Now with catheter, I feel to pee often. It is the first I have it. A bit blood in the urine, much less than I expected. However, if I push for poop, which hasn't successful yet, I feel more pain and seem to have more blood. No long term result yet.
You probably don't care retrograde ejaculation at age 82, but might still want to have minimal procedure for easy recovery. Rezum and PAE were the main options that I considered.
