constant chest/breast discomfort/pain!

Im wondering if anyone can help reassure me or give me some advice I have constant chest pain/discomfort/heavy pressure feeling in my chest and also in my left breast area it scares the hell out of me and then I get really bad pain between my shoulder blades! I know its not anxiety or panic attacks because I do suffer with them so I know what to expect but this is just a constant ache I have I just can't describe it, ache/pain/discomfort/pressure feeling, I had ecgs and blood tests a month ago when this all started and they was fine I had a chest x ray that was also fine, it's really concerning me as to the fact its still there after numerous medications e.g seriods, antibiotocs and painkillers (ibuprofen and co codamol) doctor assumed I had pleurisy or something called costochondritis - this hasn't been confirmed he just said that's what it could be! Im currently taking propanolol 10mg twice daily to calm my anxiety because doctors also believe I have that too im convinced its my heart the propanolol has calmed my heart rate (it was constantly pounding) im just so confused as to why I have this constant chest discomfort making me feel like something bad is constantly going to happen! Im sick of going to my gp for him to say its anxiety I know for a fact it isn't anxiety because this is constant and it's the only symptom I have got whereas when I do have a panic/anxiety attack I get every symptom under the sun! Im going to ask my doctor to refer me to a cardiologist as I really do think it's my heart its constantly on my left side and also centre of my chest I know its not pleurisy or costochondritis as my doctor says because my chest x ray was clear!! Can someone please tell me if they have had this before, how they got rid of it or what it is please im going out of my mind! I feel like im not breathing all the time obviously I am but that's how I feel my chest just feels shallow and someone sat on it constantly sad im 22 female and petrified it's my heart or im going to have a heart attack or something

I would like to speak aloud about how I’m feeling. 3 weeks ago I woke up with a terrible pain in my left upper stomach under my rib and chronic backache. After going to toilet it passed, but back pain has remained. I also have acid stomach trouble and a hernia and have been experiencing different pains. Then I got a terrible pain in my right hip/pelvis. I do have Arthritis but these pains are totally alien to me. Now I’m obsessing that I have cancer, and that I’m going to die. I’m weak, tired, light headed, and now the sight of food makes me feel sick never mind eating it. I’m losing weight, and cannot make out if I’m really dying or just anxious? I’m crying, shaking, people are getting sick of me already, including my GPS!!! I’m so scared, terrified I’m seriously ill, I’m going out of my tiny mind. Crying at work, legs feel like jelly I’m a wreck 😢 Am I going to die or just completely insane????

I’ve felt this and it can be constant or come in waves. I was told it’s normal unfortunately in those who have anxiety. And a panic attack doesn’t always happen afterwards

It's such a relief to know that i'm not the only one, I feel like my family is so sick and tired of listening to me talk about this all day! I finally feel understood! I'm 24 and I've gone to the ER 3 times since April and i've been told everything is fine! I went on Nov. 22 and Dec. 14 and all they say is that it's anxiety, my EKG, xrays and bloodtests came back fine. I'm so sick of this, all I want to do is sleep sad I feel like crap all the time because my chest hurts which leads to me being even more anxious because I feel like i'll get a heart attack, this seems never ending! I'm scared of showering and being alone because I don't want to die alone, I just feel like my heart is going to stop. I was woken up by sharp stabbing pains in my heart which led me here. I hope we all find comfort soon, my heart goes out to all of you!

Hey, how are you feeling nowadays?

I have the exact same symptomes + I haven't slept in days because of the pain and fear. Eventually I fall asleep around 5.-6.am due to exhaustion, but I can't keep living like this. It affects everything in my life. I'm scared to go out have a few drinks/meal with my friends, I'm scared to drive, to exercise, to sleep......

I can somehow get through the day, but in the evening it gets a million times worse. It is a constat left side pain acompanied with all other symptomes.

It is a horrible feeling, like I'm waiting for a heart attack.

I'm 24, pretty healthy, could do with a little more exarcise and a few pounds less but nothing worrying, nothing nearly a good of a reason to have heart issues at such a young age.

I hope we somehow figure this out, or at least learn to cope with it ??

Hi Ava, Sorry you are suffering this at such a young age (I'm 54) but I just want you to know that I can relate as I am going through this also. Exercise seems to help but as you said It's difficult to do much of anything. I'm working on my diet and weight. Doc says this should alleviate some of the symptoms. Anyway, you are not alone and I feel much better reading yours and everyone elses post on this. Thank you! As your last line read, I hope we somehow figure this out, or at least learn to cope with it 💕 Thanks again, continued prayers, sincerely, John

Hi everyone these last couple of months I have learnt 2 things hope this can maybe help one of you 1) it can be Costochondrtes - inflammation of the cartilage that attaches the inner end of the upper ribs to the flat bone in the middle of the chest (known as the sternum). Cartilage is a type of tissue that helps form many important body structures 2) When you don’t get enough sleep in and you are tired, your body goes in a anxiety attack mode cuaseing the chest pain I found stress also plays a role in it. I get the chest pains on a regular basis and sometimes I need to catch a breath or rub my my left side for a few moment and drink a pain killer

      Hi John,

I hope you are feeling well and that diet and exercising are helping.

I realized that alcohol enhances the symptoms a lot for me. I can go days without feeling any pain and discomfort, but a night out on the weekend and a few glasses of wine the pain starts all over again, so I do recommend staying away from any type of alcohol.

Other than that, I found no more tips on how to deal with this and nowadays I just hope living healthy and positive will eventually make it stop.

As you said, it is a great comfort to come here and know that we are not alone in this, so thank you all for your messages! 💗

Hi everyone.. I just thought I’d let you all know.. that I have had chest, stomach, Neck and back pain for a year in January. Anxiety got me lingers as I google and work myself up. I just find it so hard that anxiety can cause this much stress and pain.

I’ve had all kinds of tests that were all normal.

I’ve had heart palps also. Dr’s tell me it’s all anxiety.

Hope you all feel better soon.

But anxiety can last and I just don’t know when mines coming to an end..

We all hear and know what you are saying. It socks to be in this much discomfort and pain everyday and told it is anxiety but I have gotten to the point where I believe it only because if my chest hurts my head doesn’t and vice verse. I want us all to feel better

The same symptoms happened to me about 8 months ago. A little more about me, Im a 37yr old male with chest pain, shortness of breath, pain with activities, spasms in arms, inflammation in joints and anxiety. I was taking no meds when this started. Chest pain was so bad that I went to ER. They ran an EKG and it was off. This started the ball moving in the wrong direction. They sent me to a cardiologist and he did a stress test and echo. I failed on both test. Shortly after that they scheduled me for a heart catheterization. This is required for a blockage. After the procedure they did not find a blockage. Next they told me I had wolf Parkinson's white syndrome. So they scheduled me for an ablation. After that procedure they said that they couldn't correct it without major complications. Now the gave me a green light for my heart. I still had a tight chest, shortness of breath and trouble with physical activity. All of this causing anxiety because you feel like your having a heart attack everyday. Now the GP sends me to a GI specialist. He does upper GI track, barrium swallow test and chest x Ray. All came back good. Now they have me taking 2 Motrin every 4 hours and still can't find anything. The next step was to go to a pain doctor. My GP said let's try a steroid pack. This actually made my chest hurt worse. Now I can't even put on a seatbelt without pain. It has been 7 months and still feel like day one. Scheduled a new appointment with my GP and he says my only option is pain management. He schedules me for a CT and tells me to go see a chiropractor. I went to a chiropractor for 4 visits and nothing. My CT comes back clean. On my 5 visit a intern asks me how I felt. I said just like the first day I came in. She says well we keep adjusting the back let's look at your front. She put me on a table face up and started at my shoulders working down. Then she said can you take off your shirt because somethings off. She literally beat on my chest for the next 20 minutes. Then it happened I felt all the pressure and tightness release. I had two upper ribs in my breast plate that had popped out of place. This was not found by x Ray, CT or any other tests. I was back to normal after 5 days from having this adjustment. Do not give up and keep trying.

I forgot to add that they diagnosed me with costa-condritis after my third week. After 3 months I said why would I still have this?
