constant chest/breast discomfort/pain!

Im wondering if anyone can help reassure me or give me some advice I have constant chest pain/discomfort/heavy pressure feeling in my chest and also in my left breast area it scares the hell out of me and then I get really bad pain between my shoulder blades! I know its not anxiety or panic attacks because I do suffer with them so I know what to expect but this is just a constant ache I have I just can't describe it, ache/pain/discomfort/pressure feeling, I had ecgs and blood tests a month ago when this all started and they was fine I had a chest x ray that was also fine, it's really concerning me as to the fact its still there after numerous medications e.g seriods, antibiotocs and painkillers (ibuprofen and co codamol) doctor assumed I had pleurisy or something called costochondritis - this hasn't been confirmed he just said that's what it could be! Im currently taking propanolol 10mg twice daily to calm my anxiety because doctors also believe I have that too im convinced its my heart the propanolol has calmed my heart rate (it was constantly pounding) im just so confused as to why I have this constant chest discomfort making me feel like something bad is constantly going to happen! Im sick of going to my gp for him to say its anxiety I know for a fact it isn't anxiety because this is constant and it's the only symptom I have got whereas when I do have a panic/anxiety attack I get every symptom under the sun! Im going to ask my doctor to refer me to a cardiologist as I really do think it's my heart its constantly on my left side and also centre of my chest I know its not pleurisy or costochondritis as my doctor says because my chest x ray was clear!! Can someone please tell me if they have had this before, how they got rid of it or what it is please im going out of my mind! I feel like im not breathing all the time obviously I am but that's how I feel my chest just feels shallow and someone sat on it constantly im 22 female and petrified it's my heart or im going to have a heart attack or something

I am an RN in emergency room and think it could be the costochondritis and this cannot be seen on an X-ray as it is muscular another cause could be anxiety I myself was convinced I was having a heart attack (in the past) and was frequently at the ER with same s/s as you. However, wit his that being said there can be unique situations that can be undiagnosed. One being a weak aorta. THIs is often undetected by doctors but this is rare to have at your age (under 60) unless you have or were born with Warfin syndrome ( long limbs long fingers) or have genetic familial history or sudden heart attack or sudden death due to aortic rupture...most likely if you do not have a rapid heart rate (over 100 beats per minute it is muscular and can take months to improve ..Motrin and sometimes steroids or ice and heat applications may help. What I learned as a nurse is that 99 percent of the time it is the least dangerous reason for your symptoms. I would like to recommend yoga or Pilates something to help de stress and keep your heart healthy at same time! Lisa

Hi I am 29 I feel the same way but majority of the time it's at night. I went to the doctor once they told me it was cause of stress but I don't think so. I need to go again and see what they tell me. Did you ended up going to the doctor have they told you anything different?

Believe me I have the same feeling in my chest. But like your Dr.says I have anxiety at times to the highest level. My age is 75 old male but in excellent condtion from my doctors report. Sleeping became a problem also, I workout regularly but does not stop my attacks. You are very young and the thinking of your future could make your mind go crazy without you realizing it. Just don't get into medications that would be worse. Please take care to your best and God Bless

Omg!
Everything you've just said I'm the exact same!
I've been referred to a cardiologist! Everything was normal just had skipped beats!!!
I've had constant chest/breast/back pain since the middle of January this year!
I still find it hard to believe it's just anxiety myself!
But I've had so many tests! And they've all been normal!
Some days it's stronger than others!
But was so convinced it was heart related! 🙈
Hope you get through it x

I have a daughter going through EXACTLY what you are. She's been going through this for a year now. We have been to every doctor there is and every test there is. Numerous medications and they want to say anxiety too. But the anxiety comes after pain starts. I research all the time. I still have no good answers either. She is same age as you. Started when she was about to turn 23 and now 24. Maybe we can help each other find answers. Doctors just don't know what to do. She suffers daily and it reduces her to tears. It has to totally disrupted our life. We are not sure what's next but we have some other appointments. We had a full cardio workup with echo. Numerous X-rays and MRIs. #stay strong.

Finding this was amazing I never thought I'd find so many people going through the same thing as me!
I did want to ask though do any of the women here have large breast because I was just reading that very large breast can cause all these symptoms I think maybe besides the racing heart which I'm pretty sure I caused by worries so much but it can also cause numbness and tingling in arms and fingers along with chest pain back pain shortness of breath and a few other things. I really hope this can bring comfort to someone because I know with my anxiety a little piece of mind goes a long way.
Best wishes to everyone.

Hi. We're still working towards a solution. Yes she has large heavy breast. But one thing I found out was that during a chest MRI earlier this year, it shows fibrocystic breast tissue. We have an appointment at our breast center on the 12th I will have to let you know what the say. But this could explain this. We'll see. I am going to try vitamin E and soy, evening primrose. She also shows high inflamation in her body. Which we've reduced somewhat. We are going to pain management and a rheumatologist also this month. I'll post when I get any info. Hang in there.

I'm so glad I found this. I've been ignoring my anxiety for years, but in the past few months I've developed arm, chest, under breast and behind right breast pain.
The doctor said my heart was fine. But I'm still so convinced it's my heart.
I know deep down it's mostly anxiety along with back issues I have but I've been given 2mg diazepam. I don't like taking pills at all but lately I've been taking aspirin twice daily because I am convinced it's good for preventing heat problems. Anxiety is awful and it only becomes worse if you don't face it and change your mindset. I'm in the process of trying. Good luck everyone xxx

Your not going to have a heart attack! Honestly I'm going through the exact same . It's awful every day / time I go to bed mostly, I feel like I'm going to have an attack and die. I have all the same symptoms and more.
Targeting (even if you think it's not) the anxiety should be one of the main priorities also. I'm crying reading these because I know exactly how it feels. I'm frightened to be alone just in case.
Every time guy feel a pain, focus on it and take it away as if you were taking a spider off yourself and throwing it. This works for me psychologically xx

Hi ladies. Thought I would respond with what I know. Maybe it can help. I posted before that my daughter suffers from all the same things. We have gone over a year now. We have had every test you can imagine and labs too. I am under several theories at this point. First of all she was diagnosed with celiac and I believe this is where it all began. I've found through personal experiences with her and friends that gluten can manifest itself as many medical issues. We've got her numbers way down. Get tested!! It is an autoimmune disorder so when you have one you have several. We've treated for acid reflux. No gluten. No sugar. These have helped but we also discovered that she has fibrocystic breast. Which is causing most of the pain. Taking vitamin E and a good sports bra. So far so good. What you need to remember is that it's not your heart but everything around it. Try and see if you can separate the symptoms and address them individually. Doing this helped us as we had been looking at it all this time as one issue. Her anxiety came after the pain because she felt she was going to have a heartattack. Get lab tested for gluten. The body attacks itself and so everything goes haywire. We're not out of the woods but a major turn around. This all started with a bad virus then turned into six weeks of coughing. Now over a year later some relief. Oddly enough started at 22 also. Hormones play a major role also. Start eliminating some things. We found sugar was a major culprit. I'll try to keep up with you all. Don't give up cause you have to be a self advocate. #stay strong

I have don't all they tell me and nothing helps. I've just learned to live with it. If it gets real bad I just take a few Tylenol and lay down hoping it will let up soon. Hope you find out why you have it.
